Exactly. That's the point I was making. I always worked on the same basis as NATO, i.e. that Germany's codes, like Iceland's and Spain's, were done from the native language. So, Germany is "DEU" (as was West Germany), and East Germany was "DDR".

But now I find that the IOC works differently.

That was a lovely skate from Yo. Beautiful knee-bend throughout and deep edges. Gorgeous 3Lz-3T to start, and a really satisfying ripping sound on the takeoff of the loop, thanks for the microphone there. Bobble on the axel landing, but stays upright. Head-back twizzles in the step sequence! She skates with feeling, and real commitment to performing all the details of the choreography.
