2025-26 Russian Junior Grand Prix - Stage 2 - Magnitogorsk

Well, well, well, the task has just become a little harder for those still to skate. I was worried after the Short, but the Free has been much better so far.

Kolyada talks about UR on quad but still good. 125 for such skate is low. Orekhovskaya is great.

No matter one fall it was good old Vika!

Pity about 4T, that was visible it won't be landed, but 4S, 3A celan, another 4S with ice touched but still able to deliver combo. SO far her best free this season.

Glad to see Shepeleva happy, but this could be the difference between her making Nats or not. It likely is, unfortunately.

PCS. But I actually understand why her PCS are so low, so I can't really disagree with the score.
I don't think its that low. She almost has 7s its the highest of the night. She is less than 1 away from what Rino just got in China.

Unfortunately, not a great skate for Aliona :( Has she landed the 4T previously?
Commentators say she landed it perfect in warmup.

Chereneva's combos look great across two programs now. I did pick her out of the crowd last season. She looks fast, too. Enormous progress technically. Far more consistent. Somehow, not engaging me much artistically, to be honest, unlike last season. I thought the ChSq was a little weak.

I get she won't get 60+, but 54 seems too low to me, 59-60 would fit.
I think 54-55 is perfectly adequate if Sofia Dzepka gets 62 with a fall. Sofia Smagina, who is a much more complete performer and has better skating skills, got 56 last week for her Free.

Chereneva is all legs and arms, and untamed power. Super fast, big skating and jumps, just a little wild on the landings at times. Well done to her, for another clean skate to finish the second group.

Generally the scoring on this event seems much more stingy than last week. E.g. Arina's SP would IMO get 65-66 last week (and 68 at international JGP  )
