Probably a q to be honest. Looked like a UR live, but in slo mo more like a q. Caller was very lenient on most of the girls.WAs the loop clean though? It's hard to get good flow. Interesting going back to last year's programs in both sp and fs. I wonder if she will keep the same costumes?
I don't even want to say anything about that, I'm really mad about it. She was underscored for being in the first group, for sure. But come on, among the three Japanese skaters here, she was the one who deserved the best PCS mark so far, something like 33 would have been more accurate. She’s not worse than Rinka, Jia, Alysa, or Amber in any way.Did anybody else wonder how Rino scored so low on PCS when she has by far the best skating skills of the competition? Tbh, she got away with some short rotations(like almost everyone today), so Im not arguing her score, just her ridiculous PCS. Her buttery smooth, deep, effortless edges put the rest of these girls to shame.
Rino is the Roger Federer of skating skills. You may overpower her. You may out jump her. But nobody is smoother or more graceful.I don't even want to say anything about that, I'm really mad about it. She was underscored for being in the first group, for sure. Apparently in China, Lady Gaga music streaming is banned in addition to re-working the FSAlysa, per Goldenskate's post on X, is temporarily going back to her FS from last season while they 're-work' the Gaga program.
As to the SP, Alysa felt obliged to drop her new SP due to the fact that one of the artists in the song is associated with a tragedy, the (almost certain) murder of a 14 year old girl.
Just one of the headlines:

Olympics figure skater Alysa Liu changes program amid death investigation involving singer D4vd
Liu was going to skate her short program in the lead up to the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics to "This Is How It Feels" by D4vd and Icelandic artist Laufey.www.nbcnews.com
Also, remember that Alysa was forced to train and compete last month on broken boots that were barely held together by tape. That, and the tragedy involving the artist attached to the music to her (now scrapped) new SP, surely hampered her ability to train and work on her two new programs at optimum levels.
Obviously, Alysa and her team did not have the time to come up with a brand new SP on such short notice.
However, in the SP, Alysa changed her jump in the 2nd half to a 3Lz3Lo which gave her the point advantageTo be fair, she really did have to ditch that SP as fast as she could, but there was no way she had time for a new one by this point.
I mean 100% she intended 3A.Just caught up on replay. What an exciting SP! Thrilled that Rinka and Amber nailed their 3As. Hana has another quirky programme and costume - not sure whether it works or not, but it's certainly different. I did wonder about her 2A - so it was supposed to be a 3A? The competition for the 3 Japanese Olympic spots is going to be an absolute bloodbath.
This!Rino:Beautiful Princess.Pleasure to watch her just swim on the ice.Idk how we get 30 PCS for this
Yes, on her instagram she posted how she started training to use that jumpHowever, in the SP, Alysa changed her jump in the 2nd half to a 3Lz3Lo which gave her the point advantage
