no, it's just that the international coaching teams are lazy. see the difference with the russians? same decade of course and style and yet look how diverse it looks. the team doing Madonna is mixing Vogue with SEcret, no international team is using other 90s Madonna songs. they're crystallized on the same 4 pieces

I didn't realize G/A are coming as junior nats champions. Seems they wiped every tournament last season. Will be interesting.

It's interesting. The theme is pretty explicitly bias towards the western paradigm, and I think it ended up working against them. "The 90s" is so established as a stereotype that the presentations turn out drudgerously homogenized. In Russia, the culturally unstandardized nature of the theme works in their creative favour regarding variety.
