2025-26 Russian Grand Prix - Stage 5 - Omsk

Mishina and Galliamov's consistency has gone missing, not sure if its a conditioning problem or the leg injury that is the problem. Sasha muttering away again, love how he had time do his hair in the performance

Seems it's a technical issue, not physical. As much as I troll Galliamov.

I don't understand how it's so consistently failed, though. I would like to know what happens in training.
Thats a shame, maybe it was a mistake bringing back this program, bit like Adelia, maybe a new program would keep them on there toes more. I like Galliamov he's impish, he makes me laugh

Oh I'm really sorry to see M/G struggling like this  Aborted lift and all of Sasha's movements looked very tentative, he is clearly not fully recovered from his injury :frown:

They end-up 3rd in the FS and 2nd overall.... this must be very hard for them, it's not easy at all when you're used to consistently win (and only have one "proper" rivals in B/K). Big kudos to Nastya who manages to keep a dignified and professional stand in the K&C and later on congratulating the winners. Sasha struggles way more to hide his disappointment, doesn't look like he even tries really, but that is also understandable given the situation.

I do really really hope they can turn things around. They suffered quite a few blows all at once and I'm honestly worried for them. Up and onwards and just wishing for the best for them :ghug:

To be fair to Galliamov, I don't know where the strength comes from. He must be at his limits. Feels like he's not really the problem with the lifts.

I'm not sure it's any related to his injury. The injury was foot injury. Not shoulder injury, not back injury. His jumps are very good. Weirdly, Mishina's jumps became much worse even though she was training with singles.

They never made mistakes on them except for the Olympic team event. They also did new positions every seasons.
Yes, but a bit easier than other pairs. And he turns a bit slower, less flow than other pair teams. Their throw elements have always been the best, but lifts have always been a bit below other teams.

I might agree that Ch/Ya probably have easier lifts despite Chikmareva's height.

Well, maybe they rebound, maybe they will decide to move on. We'll see. This season is really hard for M/G for understandable reasons. I wouldn’t say that B/K are their only rival. After all, B/K struggled as well.

I keep re-watching trying to figure out what the issue is. Unfortunately I don't know what I'm talking about so it's pointless. The commentators were arguing because Trankov refused to tell us what went wrong with the lift "out of respect for the training camp".

It does look like Mishina might be a little volatile on the entry and swings him around? Their other lift entries are more straight forward. There is not much angular momentum going into them. It seems like it could be the difference.
