2025-26 U.S. Men's Figure Skating

Onto the men, lol

*note, right now I'm just sticking with international seniors. I know there's some crossover with some of the juniors who are competing senior domestically, but I'm a crazy person doing this at nearly midnight eastern time, so that's more thinking than I want to do at this hour.

I came across the below video profile on Jacob Sanchez. It gives interesting details about his family background and how he got into skating. His parents seem so nurturing and proud, as do his Russian coaches. I remember a commentator once indicating that his female coach sitting in the kiss 'n cry with him was his mother. No, his mother is Johana Sanchez, born and raised in Puerto Rico. His father, Jose Sanchez, is a retired police officer, born and raised in New York City.

Jacob is so talented, kind, and friendly. He's also hard-working and focused on making his dreams come true. In 2026, I doubt he will make the Olympics ahead of guys like Andrew Torgashev and Maxim Naumov. However, the battle to win a spot should be a an exhilarating growing experience. Perhaps Jacob will be assigned to 2026 4CCs, and he can build toward competing for the 2030 Winter Olympics.

Great insights from Jason Brown in this Rocker Skating podcast interview by Jackie Wong.

Such an interesting conversation in just over 35 minutes. Among Jason's top fave programs he's skated: Riverdance; Love Is a Bitch; Sinnerman; Schindler's List; The Scent of Love (fr. The Piano)... 😍

My favorites would be the above Jason listed, plus The Question of U (Prince); Flow Like Water; Liebestraume; Writing's on the Wall; Slaughter on Tenth Avenue; The Impossible Dream

This interview with JB is reminiscent of the interview @manleywoman posted in Edge with Timothy LeDuc, in the sense of looking back on a career; the process of making it to the Olympics; career milestones; the experiences of skating through COVID; and the sheer physical difficulty hard to describe and hard for observers to truly understand that athletes in training go through on a constant basis. This is especially the bts dilemma in a sport where the goal is to make it all look so easy.

Jason: "I owe the fans so much."

Me: "We (fans & the sport) owe you more, Jason." 🤎

I could watch this all day…

Ah yes. I saw this OIP-filmed performance. JereAmazin! 🤩🫠

But here's another incredibly creative performance by Jeremy posted months ago which I have just now seen. 👀 Wow! Jeremy has still got that indefinable quality to entertain with such a complete combination of artistry and technical precision. A consummate skater's skater, yet hugely underrated in his competitive days. He could land quads, not consistently, but when he landed one in a gorgeously artistically mesmerizing performance, it was utterly divine. 🥰☺️

Look at the sequence in the below from 0:35 to 0:40, and hear the audience reaction. 😄

I adore the fun skates he does; this was performed at Mass General Brigham, blast from the past for me! I think no one recalls he skated after Jason Brown’s Riverdance at Nationals 2014 at the Boston Garden. Jeremy took Gold and Jason Silver! That segment you referenced was an “audience surprise” he is well known for. He has always been a personal favorite (I have a long list!) and not only for his skating.. my nephew is a “Jeremy”.. ha! Thanks!

Hard to believe no one has left a comment here since Nationals started lets give congratulations for our 2026 Olympic team Ilia Malinin, Andrew Torgashev and Maxim Naumov. 👏👏
Well seems like US men's thread isn't very popular  so I'll contribute:

My hope for the olympic team was Ilia, Maxim and Tomoki. Has been great to watch Tomoki making progress this season. But it wasn't enough so congrats Ilia, Andrew and Maxim

Sad to see Tomoki end his carrier. But he wasn't even first alternate on the worlds team so I can understand his decision. I remember the days when he was one of 'the three musketeers', along with Camden and Vincent climbing the Colorado muntains :) Thank you Tomoki for all fun watching your skating and your gorgeous split jump!

Friendship Comes First for Colorado Springs Boys

Btw any news on Lucas Broussard? I hope he's fine and that we'll see him compete next season.

I had stumbled on this video a while ago. Thanks for posting here so more people can enjoy it. I have watched it a ridiculous amount of times.
