Olympic champions! 
Well since no one else has left any comments about the US Ladies congrats for Amber pulling herself up from 13th after the SP to having her Olympic moment in the LP and finishing 5th. And for the NEW Olympic champion from Clovis, California Alysa Liu!!!!

Despite mistakes and placements , the U.s.a. ladies did great. Did themselves proud.

I am happy Alysa did better than she thought she would.
Amber despite mistake in short did great short and the best 3a I seen her do. It was even better than free.
Isabeau did well in short.
Felt bad about fall. Did well in short.
Finished top 12 not what wanted.
Did skated beautiful and graceful.

Will Alysa go to worlds, will Amber?
Been team gold carries expectation , but not as much as individual gold medalist or 2x times gold.

I hope they both go.
I really hope that Alysa doesn't feel like she's done everything she set out to do and retires again she has so much more to give as a skater. Even thought it feels like she's been around forever she's only had 3 seasons competing as a Senior internationally.

Oh Alysa!!! I was in the mountains with no wifi or reception, and I come back to civilization to see she won Olympic gold!?
As it was predicted when she was young, she did become an Olympic Champion, just in 2026 and not 2022. What a journey. There surely will be movies made about her.

Wow, the womens impact (and Ilia). 
I went to buy stars on ice today and the lower level is completely sold out. I remember in 2022, I literally bought tickets a week before and there was still a lot.

I follow the ladies less than I do other disciplines, but all due respect to Alysa. 
Not just for the great skate and the gold medal. She has captured the attention of the general public in a way that isn't due solely to her results. I haven't seen this interest from the "casuals" for an Olympic figure skating gold medalist in a very long time. And I am including all of the Olympic gold medalists, men, women, dance, in that category.
I hope that it is sustaining and that a rising tide lifts all (skating) boats

Alysa said in an interview she has no intentions of retiring! i think as long as she wants to skate, she's going to do just that.

Not for me. I don't want to watch these past events without the original music. Gets disconcerting and too close to the manufactured AI era we're living in. I have to doublecheck so many YT videos that come up on my feed these days. Many are manufactured stories created for clicks, and even some are hastily compiled documentaries of real people with AI-treated photos and robotic narrators.

But has she had any time this off-season to put together competitive programs? Is she taking a year off to pursue other opportunities?

I dislike the weird music as well, but can at least I can view the quality of the skating elements and refresh my memory and keep track of who is who among the lesser knowns.
