2025 Four Continents Women's Short Program

Interesting what Chris Howarth had to say about the difference in scoring between the top 2.
I think that not reviewing Kim's jumps (particularly when both skaters have had issues with rotating their jumps in the past) is a bit curious. But from where the panel are sat maybe that was a justifiable decision and I think she deserves to be first in the short.

I find it pathetic how certain "fans" who were portraying her as some sort of victim are now turning against her because she's successful.

If I was USFS, I would say if Sarah Everhardt podium in 4CC send her instead of Isabeau Levito.
I think that's too late. They offered the spot to Levito already unless she is not ready which one would think she "is" if she went to the olympic test skates.

Sofia is super cute - What a great attitude and smile! :) Too bad that the flip was a struggle. I do find that she is quite slow, and she needs to work on her spins.
She's adorable and I love her. She does need to work on spins....her mother is a sweetheart. Such a nice family. I was insta famous in the Philippines when they put a picture of me and Sofia and the flag on their IG.

Oh, drat. It is!

That is what I would dread if I was to go to an skating event.

Unless my main skating crush just happened to be sitting next to me. ;)

Come to a US event. You will get content like Andrew T picking his nose on a video call. USFS, keeping it classy.

Oh, this is a pet hate of mine too.
balazh nagi or balazch najs...:) but Balázs is there, he can tell. otherwise, it is not easy for a native English speaker to pronounce. (they also struggle with French names as well)
I don't know this Eurosport - ISU deal. however, they use it well in short track, at least with the Asian athletes. (I note that this month in Harbin, Hungarians, Kazakhs, etc. were pronounced well, in fact, even the pronunciation was quite good. that's why I don't understand the whole "system")

On the subject of Hungarian names, I hope a Hungarian gets in contact with Chris and tells him how to pronounce Balazs Nagy's name properly. Because I've come across other people with that surname, and Chris was no-where near right. I was really cringing at the way he was "Naggy-ing" yesterday.
(okay, I admit, with pronouncing Asian names I have problems, because most of the time I see them transliterated into English, and, well... if I were to address someone, I'm not sure they'd recognize her/himself)

Just finished watching the event. The judges were definitely more generous with PCS scores than they usually are at 4CC. It was actually quite a strong event . There were a lot of " clean" skates. Enjoyed it..

Chaeyeon winning is fine but I do think her 3T should have been given a q. It could be an angle issue. I prefer her skating to Mone's. But, realistically she's not performing very much.

Mone's 3F probably deserved an under rotation call so the q was generous. Her combo was also correctly called q but I agree it's not fair for her to get the call and Chaeyeon not to. They are both skaters who are small efficient jumpers and always on the border of UR.

The American women are closely matched. Bradie highest PCS and lowest TES. Likely because she's just fast and she does perform even though the choreo is wanting. Alysa in the middle. Great program. And, Sarah with the highest TES but lowest PCS. Sarah's combo should probably also have been called so I actually think her score should be a few points lower. But, they are close. Let's see what happens in the free skate.

I also enjoyed Sara Maude. I like her more than the judges do. Hope she has a good free skate.

Wakaba not doing well really upset me . Hope she gets in the podium in the free. Rino should be getting higher SS marks. I understand the low marks in the other categories. The program is meh, she wasn't in it today, and there were mistakes, but her SS are truly incredible. How isn't she getting a 9? Give her two low sevens and one nine judges, you are supposed to differentiate between the different marks.
