I think I saw more expression from Ruslan today than I did ever with Victoria. His strength has always been in presenting his partner - the old "the man is the stem & the woman is the flower" school of thinking. Elena is so much more expressive than Victoria that maybe he needs to learn that he doesn't have to work so hard to present her, and can pay more attention to bringing out his character on the ice.

The only other quibble I have with I/Z is that I'd like them to skate a little closer together. They both have great knee bend but he's leaning into her too much and that hides it a bit. He needs to straighten up and get a bit closer to her and then they'd also seem to have a slightly larger height difference. But that is only a minor complaint, I thought everything else was great, and they were robbed on the GOE of the lift and PCS, particularly SS. Once their ranking is up enough to draw later in the skating order, I expect those marks to go shooting up.

I agree. The only problem I can see with that lift though is the exit. Somehow it doesn't look comfortable and natural to me.
They should find a another way. But today is great and I'm happy. :)

Can't believe Papadakis/Cizeron are only 19!!!

She looks so mature, I'd say 28-30

Papadakis has that haughty look in the SD so similar to Marina Anissina. In fact, P&C worked with Gwendal & Marina's Spanish choreographer for this SD which is why this dance reminds me of their Olympic program.

What about Marina in kiss and cry? She is their coach

I think I/Z have good chemistry, despite Ilinykh's abundance of charisma. She might "overshadow" any partner.

Besides, none of the American boy ice dancers know how to partner anyways, except for maybe Donohue, and I don't think Poje is exceptional, either.

P/C look very mature for their ages. They had the most speed of the top 3. I, too, thought they were 28-30 :laugh:

no,thanks to God as she is only a consultant but I am sure Marina want them.

I am rewatching to Shibs and they were super good, and they really work so hard for each damn point. I understand they are not judges or people´s favorite because they are not super hot and dont have the sex on ice style, but I am glad they got better this great program.
Someone knows what does PSt+kpYYN and NtDiS mean in the protocols?

I can't belive the Shibs are in the lead! I thought C/L will take it easily, but fortunately I was wrong! The point difference is not that high, it will be interesting. I belive in you Shibsibs!

It was what we wanted to see. A great potential.

I can't even understand why people are still crying for Nikita tbh. Ruslan is great for her and the chemistry is all there.
I didn't even think for a minute about Nikita.

the French are going to beat them ; they don't have the full chemistry yet and technically are having level issues. Russia is in trouble in dancing; might not have 3 teams at world's in 2016 unless b and s make a remarkable recovery.

Don't you think judges shouldn't give level4 to twizzles to Capellini/Lanotte and Chock/Bates? Their difficult feature is ''clear change of side: both partners cross pattern at least once during the rotations*''

Capellini/Lanotte
Capellini front of the Lanotte. Luca cross Anna's pattern but Anna does not. She twizzles normally, nothing was in her way.

Chock/Bates
Chock front of to Bates. Evan cross Madison's pattern but Madison does not. She twizzles normally, nothing was in her way.

Skater who twizzle at back does change of side and cross pattern. Skater who twizzle at front just twizzle normally. :rolleye:

Elena was gorgeous as always. I think that for a first skate it was very good.
It will be soo amazing if they could get that bronze :yay:

I think I/Z PCS will be higher after FD. They skated second today and judges didn't know how to mark their skating comparing to others I think.

I agree but they can't do too much about the height difference now. Unless you know of some technology not against ISU and Olympic rules:)

I don't think that the actual height difference between them is a problem, it's just that Ruslan skates a little too far from her when they are in hold, and then has to lean forwards to get the arm position right. If he was a little closer, he could have a straighter back, and then the real height difference between them would be more apparent.

I think Kustarova & Alexeeva have really shown their coaching credientials in getting this team together so quickly but... I think I would still like I/Z to work with someone else eventually. I'd love to see what Platov could do with them.

the French are going to beat them ; they don't have the full chemistry yet and technically are having level issues. Russia is in trouble in dancing; might not have 3 teams at world's in 2016 unless b and s make a remarkable recovery.

P/C have never got more than 91 for an FD. I think they were only 88 at SCI a couple of weeks ago. The gap between them & I/Z is under 2 points, it's very possible to make it up. PCS was close between the teams, the real difference was the levels in the KP, and P/C have had 2 events already this season so you would expect them to be sharper there. If I/Z have been able to put as much work into the FD as the SD, I wouldn't be surprised to see them overhauling the team in front of them, particularly as skating so early will have hurt them. But medals are not the important thing at this stage, it is performing well & showing themselves to have plenty of potential. Ice Dance is the one discipline where new skaters need time above anything else, to truely become a team with matching lines, timing, posture, alll the little details that add up to turn a good team into something really magical. But if I/Z are already at this point with scores that would have got them on the podium at SA and SC, just think where they could be by the 2nd half of the season.

What are you talking about? French are going to beat them where, when?
I'm speaking about great potential here and above all I'm speaking about the future, if they continue working like this.

This is a new couple starting from the scratch and you're talking about the french, and top teams now.
Well, the points difference is small and the levels are quite good.
Only the pattern was level 2, they got 4 for twizzels while the Shibs got 3, and the World champions got even lower levels for other elements.
Just the fact that are comparing them so closely with couples who are skating together much longer, and trying hard for some years now, shows what these two can do.

Let's see where are they next season, shall we? ;)
You are thinking about now. I'm ahead, and thinking about the next years to come. :)

Congratulations to Papadakis/Cizeron and Ilinykh/Zhiganshin. They both skated very good. Really really sorry for Capellini/Lanotte. I thought Anna was ''the one'' who can capture paso doble feel this year. That was -how can I say more kindly- pitiful. :disapp:

Maybe we should organize donation for Zoueva. I don't think she have any money for lift specialist. Did she try a new lift this year at all? I:rolleye:
