It is quite possible. Jin could rack up a HUGE technical score in both programs, and if Fernandez doesn't deliver, he could place 2nd (although I doubt it will happen - Jin's PCS will hold him back in the placements).

Jin didn't even beat Han Yan with that huge tech score last month. But I really have no clue how this will all play out. Jin's first international senior comp + skating at home vs. Javi, the world champ...and you never know which men will bomb on any given day. But it will be interesting.

No way will the ESU let that happen... Get ready for Javier's PCS in the 86 ~ 91 regardless how he skate. While -2 to -3 across the board for Boyang on a relative basis, probably worse PCS than Sei Kawahara at Skate Canada, around 61~66. That'd gives Javier approx 25-30 points cushion.

PCS judging should be very interesting at this competition, variance of 1 to 2.5 between some of the judge's scoring even. Skate China doesn't benefit their home skaters unlike other GP series (just look how Zijun is always scored at home). They should learn from others and start somewhere... Also China tends to be embed in some sort of hierarchical culture where senior naturally have certain privileges, I think the federation support is likely to support Han Yan more by seniority.

Of course I hope to be proved wrong by all accounts... sport should be about meritocracy but too many times we see scores don't always reflect things accurately, or takes a few competitions before settling in. Either that, or they tends to go overboard with producing artificial winners.

He can land it, but like all the other guys he has his moments when nothing goes right. But just looking at that layout...WOW.

That list isn't even totally correct for the LP, I'm pretty sure he plans 4T+3T, not just 4T+2T. Here's his performance from earlier in the year:

Ran into stamina issues in the LP, but he still accomplished a lot there and was clean in the SP too.

His quad lutz is mind-boggling to me. It looks like he's putting in exactly as much effort as a triple, but somehow an angel is invisibly lifting him as he jumps.

It looks like I may have to change my prediction if he's hitting all this difficulty at practice!
