Do you have a link? I've been following the live result page...
Livestreams are on the websites of the BBC, ARD, NOS, but they are all georestricted. I watch everything from the NOS on livestreams and a bit on telly, but BBC channels are TV channels we get here on television, too. (Joys of living in an internationally-minded country, we get a lot of foreign TV channels). So you could try the websites.

I've been waiting for this result for 12 years!!!! I was so nervous during the horizontal bar I couldn't watch any of the routines. So proud of Tanaka for redeeming himself, with a very stylish and perfect parallel bars. So happy for Ryohei too! If he can do at least this well in the AA, he can medal! And Kohei...I remember when he was just a "baby" in 2008. I can't imagine how much this means to him.

Women...yeah, boring. US will win by at least 10 points...

The German did a respectable job with only 4 members, going down only 0.243 from qual to TF. I don't follow MAG but where has this team been for the last quad?

In second session?

ETA: Sorry my reply doesnt meet your question. What does the last quad mean?

"im just feel the happiness. My dream for 4 years comes true. I truly feel gratitude to not just the team mates but all the people supported me. So happy.
I shall do my best in the remaining individual and each event without losing my concentration. Thank you for your continuous supports!

Quad, short for quadrennia = a period of 4 years. I often have the image of the German team as being quite weak. Not that they would medal this time even with a full healthy team, but that's quite good.

Aww, the real Ryohei. Good, time to practice Japanese

Thanks! Yes, I didn’t follow MAG totally, but it’s fun to see the competition. So thrilling and the joy to catch great performances is like that in figure skating.

Ryohei doesn’t talk so much, but he has the sprit. Love him.:luv17:

I don’t remember baby Kohei!. Every time I’ve heard his interview, I feel the 2004 team, tomita-san’s existence is absolute inside him. His smile after the win today was truly impressive. I cant fully express how much I respect him. He’s struggled with the decline for his age since London. In that condition he’s just continued and thought out how to win in Rio, and even got the new skill, Li Xiaopeng (I watched it before my eyes in the competition! So excited.).
Today he repeated his huge fatigue in his interviews. His focus in Rio was team event, but I would love to see him win in individual event.

Men’s fight is bad for your heart . :drama:

I've been watching this competition last last being so nervous and wishing #TeamJapan to win. So happy they won gold! Anyone has a record of the competition with focus on Team Japan? I'd love to watch it, my coverage wasn't focused on them until the last two rounds which were stellar btw. I think I fell in love with every Team Japan member.:luv17::biggrin:

I think 2004 is my favorite team still. I remember Kohei saying how he wanted to get the full-twisting Kovacs as good as Tomita's.

I don't think there's one, as the IOC is very quick to remove even Olympics gifs on Tumblr.

By winning the Olympic team gold, I’m hoping that people will know our names and that gymnastics will become popular. May I introduce each of my teammates? As you saw this time, Ryohei is mentally tough and never ever makes a mistake. Kenzo is known as Mr. Twist and he just twists and twists. Yusuke has the most precise and beautiful routines of all of us. Yamamuro is good at lifting our spirits. He can encourage me with a single word.” –Kohei Uchimura

Ok, just twist and twist .

this is his wish. His wish is gymnastics will popular. He's won so many titles, but this time gold is much heavier than the others.

"You can’t top what happened in Athens, but we’ve made our own history here" is what Uchimura said in the interviews. In his heart Hiroyuki Tomita will always be the perfect gymnast he's always wanted to emulate.

Indeed, when Japan won in Athens it was spectacular and Tomita's HB routine has been and will probably keep being immortal. But it doesn't take anything away from this team's victory. More than anything else, I was deeply moved by the fact that this was the same team who lost in London; Uchimura, Kato, Tanaka and Yamamuro. I've watched them finishing 4th and waiting for Uchimura's PH inquiry result. At that time Uchimura said he didn't care if the team finished 4th or 2nd anymore, he was deeply upset for losing the gold. Years later he regretted thinking in such a selfish way.

Now, with the addition of Shirai, I teared up watching that same team cry; this time from happiness, not from frustrations. It was a valuable team; four of them are World AA medalists and Shirai is a floor and vault phenomenon.

do you have a vpn? then you'll be able to watch them.

By VPN, you mean Hola Blocker, Zenmate *technophobe alert*? I have several streams to major Japanese networks, so no problem. Just answer Hamaguri's question :). Which channel in Japan shows the Olympics aside from NHK?

This is Tomita-san's interview (page 5 is especially impressive.) His talk shows deep insight. Nice interview.

Congratulations to the all medalists
