Totally agree. It's way too OTT.

The blues is serviceable but nothing to write home about. They're so talented that THEY'RE fascinating to watch, but the blues section is eh.

I will give them credit--that is the first swing that really feels authentically 1930s/1940s.

He's simply the best ice dancer I've ever seen. And she is a great partner.

They are already getting the highest TES and PCS, so yeah I agree with you about how they are relative to Virtue and Moir.

But yeah, if this was a lindy hop free dance, I would be all about it, but it always seems they sort of do it at the expense of the pattern.

I think the placements are correct. I thought, maybe, H/D were underscored but protocols are everything. Should be an entertaining FD. Maybe they held up P/P a bit? Not sure. It was a pretty big mistake.

That was such a great Lindy hop. And the blues felt so crisp in the turns. It isn't my fave programme of theirs but for first outing? Wow.

77 something. Papadakis/Cizeron definitely have the highest SD score at this point.

she always comments ice dance and sometimes she does all discipline. she isn't afraid to say when she doesn't like something.

I withdraw my previous assessment on their SD at Masters. They are so wonderful to watch!

My eyes were naturally drawn to Guillaume's movements. He is such a phenomenal dancer.

Kind of underwhelmed with parts of that dance... work to do, but other sections were good. Good start, though. Not a fan of the pre skate choreography, lol. too much.

edit: he is just so good... as a skater, and on the eyes.

I'm pretty sure they slept delightfully last night as well... ice dance is a bit more unpredictable than usual this year, but the field here is pretty weak

I really hope Piper and Paul will overcome their mistake in the short dance today and come out guns a blazing with their fabulous tango free dance tomorrow.

Without mistakes I could see them overtaking H/D and maybe even I/Z. *fingers crossed for them* They have improved SO much these last two seasons and it would be a shame to see the off the podium here after an unfortunate twizzle mistake.

The twizzles are only one of the required elements for an ice dance program. It's a shame that when a team is penalized for a twizzle mistake, their entire program gets dinged as well, even if they were skating really well prior the twizzle error and managed to recover and end on a high note.

Yeah, it's a real lindy hop (minus the lifts which would cause rule violations galore). It's not an integrated dance and that's the problem. The first half choreography is snoooooooooooozecity.
