2017 JGP Belarus Ladies Free Program

Alana Toktarova (KAZ) in a mint green dress. Lots of fabric cut out (well, illusion-fabric-covered), and the cutouts are lined with rhinestones. A bit mature of a dress, IMO. Also has a white ribbon fabric tied around her bun with the ends free to flow. Definitely fits with R&J.

She has a great looking Biellmann!

Finally done with all my house chores!:drama: Alana has a really weird axel entrance lol. She holds her leg back for a good full second in such an awkward position then swings it in.:scratch2: Pity about the jumps. She has a cute costume though, love the shade of green.

Okay I love Pink as much as anyone else, but this takes the prize for the weirdest music I've ever seen. The Alice in Wonderland part with all the voiceovers seemed like they just took lines from the movie or something!? Utterly bizarre. Then Just Like Fire which I know was a song for the music, but it does not match at all.:scratch2: Cute costume and nice jumps in the beginning though. Definitely got tired in the end.

Alexandra Feigin (BUL) has a very interesting looking costume. Top is a fancy looking black and pinkish-red vertical striped jacket thing, with a white undershirt and a black bow around the collar. Then the bottom is a pale blue skirt, and a red bow in her hair. She's skating to a mashup of Alice through the Looking Glass and Pink's "Just Like Fire" so I guess it kind of fits?

Sorry the costume distracted me and I didn't really note much about the skate itself, except she had some great triples.

Looks like the black bow might have been choking her a bit at the end. First thing she did when she stopped was to pull at it.

Andrei Lutai is her coach and honestly they look like they could be related.

Ted being as sweet as ever talking about how each skater can show their individuality being a great aspect of the sport and while some may start off expressive and others not so much, we can see them develop like this.:luv17: It would not be a lie for me to say that Ted's commentating on the JGP is what got me back into the sport. I am a Ted stan for life.:thank:

Morgan Flood (AZE) in a pretty black dress with a silver rhinestoned collar and rhinestones raining down the bodice.

Hand down on her first jump.

Lovely three jump combo next, though.

She's got some good tech when she lands it.

Finished a tad after her music.

Lucrezia Bezzari (ITA) in a simple greyish-blueish dress, fitting to her Schindler's List music.

Solid opening jump.

A good footwork sequence followed by a beautiful combo.

Stepped out of a jump but then proceeds to land another combo and a squence.

Pretty sit spin.

Finished definitely after her music (the gunshot sound in the soundtrack went off before she was done spinning.)

Loads of potential for her. Loads. And she won't even be 14 until almost mid December.

I think I tuned in just in time to get the Zamboni break before the last two groups...

Lucrezia has a lot of talent in her! Her edges were really deep and a lot of feeling in that. The jumps just need brushing up, almost all of them had a foot wrap.

93.47 FS, well deserved highest score so far.

ZAMBONI BREAK TIME (AKA time for me to now go find breakfast. And coffee. Mostly coffee.)

I see we don't escape Black Swan even during Zamboni breaks.

Man Rika has improved so much on her general artistry, spins, skating skills, and makeup. Seems like a whole new girl. Her jumps seemed higher last year though.:slink:

And oh god Zagitova's headband! Thank god they got rid of it.:drama:

Oooh nice costumes this group.

Loving the deep blue dress with the silver rhinestones in a few intertwined strips around the waistline. (I think it's Kristina from EST)

Selma Ihr is so freaking cute in her little princessy Nutcracker costume.

The black/red costume that looks sort of bikerish is definitely Ann-Christin of GER with her Grease skate.

Linnea Ceder of FIN with one-sleeved costume that is hot pink on the intact sleeve and the underlayer and then maroon on the rest, the joined area with lots of rhinestones. It's a pretty design even if I'm not crazy about the hot pink.

Some jumping errors (hand down/ fall, etc) but also a few nice jumps already.

Actually the one hot pink sleeve is kind of distracting me.

I see some Rippon-ing.

She's a lovely skater. Too bad about some jump issues.

Ji Hyun To (KOR) with a pink and orange split dress with lots of rhinestone up and down. The one long pink sleeve looks very appropriate for a Madame Butterfly program.

Jump issue right off the bat?

Sometime later (sorry, got distracted with my Lucky Charms) there's a fall.

Then she does a nice jump but combos it with two singles? It wasn't like she just popped the jumps. Weird.

Nice 2A (axels are the only jump I can really identify lol)

Ughh I love Jihun's step sequence, skating skills, movement, and her 2A+3T, but she just cannot get the toe pick jumps. She has the power to jump high looking at her 2A+3T, but doesn't seem to bend the knee into the rest of her jumps so they're really low.
