2017 JGP Latvia Ladies SP

The package and choreography of Panenkova:palmf:....that dress had nothing to do with Les mis, the step sequence seemed to last a couple of hours, and then the trademark Eteri Sp jump layout: "Look it's the second half so it's time for me to do my combo, solo triple and axel!":bang:

I think it's actually a much more elegant way to present the program for the SP: opening choreography into the spins and then stsq and when the music is building the jumps, No nervous faces to start. Sometimes it would be nice to see even the steps sequence to open the program. (Yura Matsuda did it last year for example)

When it works is so nice to watch (and there are few examples of well choreographed backloaded SPs from their skaters), here i think the program itself is not so memorable.

Oh yeah, for juniors.. Will she try it in free?

I think she said she might even go for the 3A+3T for it so I'm definitely pumped. Even if she doesn't do a 3A+3T, she definitely will go for the 3A.

And speaking of..GO RIKA!!

Oooh, not good, technically from Rika, but man, that was a jam-packed program. She's really made some progress on the skating side. I guess the pressure must have got to her. I like the program though.

That would be nice to see :yahoo: And after short she definitely need it (maybe 2 of them) if she wants to win

Time for me to be a bit emo for the rest of the night. I love this program. Tom Dickson is a genius with the Japanese ladies and her artistry has improved so so much. The step sequence was amazing and the way that her arms move and her glances up and just everything was beautiful and ahsjdhkjha I'm dead

Panenkova's step sequence had some cool moments and jumps were good, but the program and packaging was kind of meh and she had no face at all.

I'm not going to moneyball it, but I wonder if skating later in the SP of a JGP leads to more mistakes... more time to get nervous(maybe over earlier skater's scores)

Agreed. She was beautiful. That isn't a mature program (and that's ok considering this is a junior competition), but it's a cool piece and she presented it very well.

Yeah...I love Rika's SP, but those PCS (especially compared to clean Alisa and Panenkova) for a program with 2 major errors does not seem right..:slink:
