2017 Worlds Free Dance

The SD has always been P/C's bete noire. No surprise there.

The US gets its three slots, but man they did it the hard way.

The protocols should be very very veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy interesting.

Would like to hear what you think Mrs P after you've seen them.

Snow, you've been MAJORLY missed.

Nah, this just showed how important it is to get those L4s. They need to focus on execution and come back with some amazing material. This season was lost because of the SD, not because of Judges and politics.

Yup. I actually think this will be a very positive end to the season for the French psychologically speaking. They won the FD, after losing all segments to Virtue/Moir all season. This will prove to them that they are still competitive.

Gutted for H/D. So many sad faces in the kiss and cry today. I've hated C/B's FD all season but couldn't help but be sad for them to see them so sad after their performance. And W/P were putting a good face on it, but they were obviously very disappointed.

Ok, who has the American Ice Dancer voodoo doll? Fess up!

That cost them the bronze and probably top 5.

B/S in third in the FD. What a farce.

Without that point 1 deduction (extended lift) they would have beaten B/S in the FD. Even if the deduction is legit (is it?), the judges still jobbed them. I think I am giving up ice dancing. It's too heart-breaking and the politics have worn me out.

Oh Madi and Zach. My heart just breaks for them. They were well on their way to nabbing that bronze and then... poof. We still love you!!!! :ghug:

Shibs defeated We/Po by just 0.37... :slink:

To be honest, I think Canada should have got the Bronze.

They definitely should have. Shibs are truly one of the most overscored teams in ice dancing history though so it is no surprise. W&P can take heart they skated well and that they are the real bronze medalists of this event, farce judging aside.

Glad to see Papadakis & Cizeron have a great free dance. First time all season long they looked like the real them. If they fix their short dance issues, which if we are being real they have had their whole career, remember they havent even won a short dance at Europeans yet, LOL, they can still battle Virtue & Moir for the OGM next year for sure.

So sad Hubbell & Donohue could not take this HUGE opportunity. With their best dance they would have gotten bronze and wow what a boost for next year. Instead they finish below Gilles & Poirier, and remain distant U.S #3 even with Chock & Bates sliding down in the world order. Ouch.

:eeking: I always gasp so loudly when Ice Dance couples fall  But really, I feel so sorry for them, especially Zach. Freak fall really.

Anyway, aside from that, it was a very lovely dance, but, truthfully, I've had enough mush-mush for one day (year?). I'm really looking forward to what the couples bring to the table next season, and hopefully they won't all be thinking of the same things

Awwww 20 years together, longer than most marriages!!

116 for THAT? P/C should retire. They have 0 chanse to win the Olympics. 0

Let's be real. The French are being groomed for gold. At the start of the year V and M were the underdogs. The French have a magic between them. They usually pick very wise programs becuase for whatever reason Cizeron doesn't have that romantic male lead. He reminds me for whatever reason of Eric Radord moreso. Dancer type but the chemistry with their partners for some unexplainable reason while there is a relationship and some sparks or magic it certainly isn't romantic. Cizeron is a true dancer and while I think Gabby lacks the skill right now to really properly complement Gullaume - there shoudl be a deduction or reduction of mars. The judges love them. Their pcs are granted high today but next to V and M in the SD should have been at least a point and a half or more lower than V and M. As entertainers and dancers overall PC might be better than V and M but this is ice dance. From an ice dance perspect V and M show a lot more versatility though that doesn't count - see Fernandez he does what he does best but again it is the rogue type of character. Imagine him trying to emulate Brian Boitano's dramatic stares into outerspace and hands reaching ot the heaven - it woudl be like what the heck. Marie France and team know what they are doing. And V and M do not do well under pressure. It is their achilles p lus they don't have the huge height diffentiatio. as for H/d wow - what a blood bath us nationals will be. Now what would be interersting and almost ironic - if the Americans battle each other and the Russians, Weapo, Gilles and Porier or Italians sneak through and knock them out of the bronze next year. I think the bronze right now is reserved for an American team moreso than the Gold and silver (though it seems two teams arefighting for gold.

They handed out the Bronze to Shibs. I can't believe team Beave FD will get a small medal for being 3rd highest :rolleye:

ANyway, happy WeaPo was solid enough to climb to 4th :) they needed that I think ;) And G/P at least has not finished lower than last year :)

I love H/D but hate how their so freakin' inconsistent! If their not falling on weird stuff like choreographic sequences, they mess up the twizzles. Sighhhhhhh. I was hoping this would have been their dream skate! :palmf:

Honestly if Madison were a little younger and ice dance in the USA weren't SUCH a bloodbath I'd think she should consider trying to find a new partner. It seems to me it's always him who's falling all over the place.

Wow. Crazy competition.

Congrats to V/M for a hugely successful comeback overall. P/C totally deserved to win the FD, very happy for them (and honestly, going into the Olympics, it probably relieves them of a bit of pressure to not be 3-time reigning world champs).

Congrats to Shibs for their bronze. They just locked up their spot on the Olympic team for next year in the team event. Had they fallen behind C/B and H/D overall, would've been a lot tougher.

All 3 of those teams you mentioned are the locks for the U.S Olympic team. There is no way any of the trio miss it, including Hubbell & Donohue. Who is going to beat them, Hawayak & Baker?

W/P so close to the bronze.

But tonight belonged to the French. They were magical, evocative and beautiful. It's a shame that that SD dogged them all year.

Can't believe B/S were 3rd in the FD and that C/B and H/D fell so far.
