2017 Worlds Men's SP

Omg the level of this competition is too high... hand down on solo jump from Michal...

He indeed has breathless charm on/off ice.

People acting like Nathan just pulled a Alissa C or Gracie and bombed despite lading 2 quads. People sometimes!! He just destroyed no doubt the SP score of US Men at the world championships. :noshake: Considering the nerves and all the pressure he has on him he managed to keep it together unlike some of our other former US champions who i shall not name.

BREZINA didn't fall:yahoo: some reviews thogh:sad21:

I love his skating, the way he use his feet and legs:luv17:
Happy Birthday, it was a good skate!

Awww soo sweet. Crowd singing happy birthday! Amazing crowd!!

Bychenko did well but for they skated so early on Aussie Aussie Brendan and "my hair went through a food processor and loss" Reynolds should be ahead but such is life. I guess being USA no. 1 and the heir apparent has its privileges. Love Nathan, great jumper and developing artistically but it is like they are Crowning him lord of lords and the judges have left no room for others in comparison. People whine about Evgenia well what is good for the gander is even better for the deserved goose. lol

This group of men almost felt like the last group with all these great performances. The competition among Worlds men really reached an incredibly crazy level!!

All anyone can talk about when it's Nathan versus Hanyu is skating skills, but skating skills are conveniently forgotten when compared Nathan versus Boyang :sarcasm:.

(Boyang's skating skills in the Spidey program are not good, the small choppy forward crossovers he does out of jumps are distracting. It's a fun program, but it's totally okay if judges prefer Nathan's balletic program. Especially since the judges probably prefer the traditional).

Nah, not down to that level. But maybe Patrick Chan's level.

It's not so much complaining about a skater as it is pointing out the gaps in a judged sport. A judge's tastes greatly influences the scores. A lot of people here seem to like Nathan, and I don't get the obsession, hence the difference in scores. You can only critique the system, please remember that the skaters themselves are not writing their own scores.
From what I've seen on this forum, and the 3 threads that have bashed him and his PCS, a lot of people here dislike Nathan. So you're in good company to be honest.

Chen ahead of Ten and Kolyada on the components? PCS are already a joke and there is still the last group to come.

Everybody's exceptions went through the roof after he beat Hanyu at 4CC. People forget this is his Worlds debut

Excuse me while I hyperventilate for this final group (PC, JF, & YH in particular) :sad4:

Too bad about the fall... otherwise a strong program. It's good that he's in 2nd though.. I was sure the judges might hold him up over Jin.

But they did try - they gave him high PCS. So no one had better complain if Chan has a fall and still gets high PCS! Cause didn't they always use the argument that PCS should reflect a fall!
