2017 Worlds Short Dance

Exciting result for Hubbell and Donohue. They must be over the moon. Good for them.

Wouldn't it be amazing if they hung on for a medal?

I know I might sound as someone trying to be annoyingly clever, but I can't say I didn't totally expect that from the Shibs. They are on a steady trajectory from last season. But that is the key word. Steady.

They didn't make any huge progress from last season. Last year the diference was big and it paid off, but this year their FD is fine, but but just... Not completely stunning. It's quite forgettable. It is a good vehicle for them, but they are on the same level as last year and other finally jumped over them in this competition. Their podium position wasn't as save as others thought. Other teams are moving forward, and Shibs need to do the same, even if they manage to medal after all.

Why lost levels for the shibs? :( They are my favorites and to my untrained eye the program looked the same as always xD
I hope they'll move up in the free. I dont like either C/B nor H/D :(

They theoretically have a big chance for a bronze... But i think judges will give bronze to the one of Americans... Different nations on the podium - much more happy people :)

They also wont medal from the second last flight. No way. That never happens in dance. If they scored just 0.05 more and got into the final flight over the Shibs they would have a real shot.

they were blessed by my unicorn

I've not read the thread, so I'm going assume we are talking about your *unicorn* :laugh2:

Ermmm, I'm asking for a friend, knowing that it wouldn't be in the best interest of your favourite skater... can your unicorn bless my favourite skater anyway?

Because damn, your unicorn is super extra powerful XD

Yeah pretty much this.

With the way it is unfolding in ice dance, and there's a whooping another 12 months until Pyeongchang, I can see P/C is not even safe for the podium. This is getting nailbiting

P/C's weakness this season is the SD. They were beaten by the Shibs in the SD in the GPF and by Bobrova/Soloviev and Anna/Luca in the Europeans. Second place here is actually not a bad result here considering their season record. With a clean FD, I think they will distance themselves from the rest of the pack and be a solid second. Just IMO of course. This event turned out just as expected so far and in the end I think the biggest battle will be for the bronze medal.

Yuna adores P/C. I've seen this before. She was very upset by the scores. Be kind to her.

i was kind telling her the facts how it happened... if she wants to remain in a world with unicorns and rainbows, she can ask me... i know where to find it

I'll be drunk posting Saturday when the event is going on. Bracing myself for H&D to be knocked off into oblivion after placing 3rd here. :dbana:

This competition was all sorts of amazing. I can only imagine the tension in the Russian circles, 8th and 10th? Reading the next Besti and Averbuch interviews will be highly entertaining. To her credit this time, I didn't hear TAT screaming we wuzrobbed!!

Just saw the results and the Shibutani's are in 5th? Hubbell/ Donahue in 3rd? How Sway? How? I gotta go look at video's now. Woooow, what a surprising result.

Interestingly I do like H/D's fd the best of the Americans.

I figure it will be V/M, P/C and the Shibs unless someone falls.

I bet C/L are nashing their teeth right now.
