What do you mean, that gloves ruin a skater’s lines? I’m not being mean, I just want to hear your opinion on it.

It ruins the line. There is some choreo that requires exquisite pointing and stretch all the way up to the fingers etc. The gloves look off and bulky and especially if they are colored, it's bad.

Best example I can give you is imagine if in his later years of competition Jeremy Abbott wore gloves. It just wouldn't have worked with this movement and the stretch and sleekness to his movements. It would have ruined it.

There you have it. It's hard to put into words, easier to explain from inside the sport and on the ice.
