2018 GP Helsinki Ladies Short Program

Well, if the RD is a disaster, then it’s clear the whole event has to die so the men’s competition can live. If the ice dancers don’t splat as hard and as frequently as they did at SCI, then I think we’re just in one of those weird timelines.

Skate Canada: It looks like we don't have the curse anymore.
GP Helsinki: Hold my beer...

Ok, so silver is still doable for Kaori at this point if the replicates her SA LP :)

Though if she does have a concussion, a withdrawl and rest is better than a silver medal. TBI is a real thing. Health is better than making a grand prix final!

Skate Canada: Finland Edition?

SCI has had some much hotter messes than this.

Skate Canada had a tech controller on the rampage that depressed the scores. Only really meltdown was Zhenia. At least we got Liza's gorgeous 3A.

Okay that was crazy.

Some good things: Alina still in first even with a pop so she will easily win tomorrow!!! Yuna who was really adorable in second place. Stasya not far away from a medal. Loena in third!!

And Kaori in 7th place just like Evgenia last week. If you pull of a Medvedeva, Kaori, you can definitely still get silver!!

I‘m so sad for Stasya, though. This could have been her moment.

The only thing salvaging this night was Yuna skating clean! (wonky spin aside)

Everything else can stay erased. (Praying for men, about right now :slink:)

New horror movie comes to theaters...
I was in such tense that I forgot to follow the thread. Well, overall standings is not surprising, but the performances... What to say? Maybe that tomorrow is different day. Sleep well everybody.

I really hope Kaori is okay. That hitting her head on the ice can't be good. She said she was okay but please don't do something stupid by skating when you're not feeling well. If she can do it tho then give us the chills like in Skate America in the FS.

I'm not worried for Alina. It's not unusual, she'll make it in the FS

Agreeing with everyone that Alina can come back in the free. She's always been more of a free program skater though, that Black Swan programme last year wasn't that consistent until like Europeans.

I'm just so sad to see her and Kaori cry like that :sad21:
