Needed: Someone to do PBP for ID

Unfortunately it looks like I will be gone for this event and won't be able to do PBP. If someone can do it, that would be great.

Alas, my 85 year old Mom has Parkinson's and I spend every Thrursday with her (more often than not going to another doctor). I usually don't have internet access so if I could find a more or less permanent backup for those times I won't be able to PBP that would be great. Thanks!

Well I believe I should be able to do PBP on Saturday but definitely not for the RD on Friday as Mom and I will be traveling. Still looking for someone to PBP for that (the RD is easy--no choreographic sequences to figure out!).

I would happily do my best, though I don't even know what PBP or RD are. But I assume one is the list with the skaters, and the other is the order of skating. I am not sure where is the information of the programs skated by each skater. I know each skater has an ISU page, but I don't know how updated is.
All the best to your mom, Weak Ankles (I love your ID as I also have weak ankles, LOL). I know Parkinson is not an easy disease, but I knew an old guy who kept skying in the fist stages of Parkinson. So be positive, and I wish you all the best!

PBP = Play by plays, giving a brief explanation of how each skater does while the event is ongoing :) Thanks for offering!

The thread is open so I can you thank you all: Paula for the lovely well wishing, Doris for potentially stepping in for PBP, and Sabrina for offering (as well as Mom best wishes~). Sabrina, the PBP for the RD is relatively easy as the required elements are pretty clear cut: AT Pattern, Step Sequence, Twizzles and a Lift. Generally I'll just list them as they're performed and comment if I think something is particularly nice or uhm not so nice. Also if there is a glaring mistake on the element (like a fall, or someone misses catching a blade on a twizzle). During the warm up for the next group I go back and edit n the scores. Like sequinsgalore, I add the music selections for each team and a very brief description of their costumes. I also add the choreographer(s), because this is, after all, dance. I've learned A TON in just a few JGPs from doing this about program layouts, choreography, the AT pattern (it's all in the free leg extension, rolls and knees--the upper body is icing on the cake). Give it a shot. It would be lovely to have a permanent backup [hint, hint].

Typical tango outfits. He in a black v neck onesie. She in a red one armed dress with holes in it.

Twizzles - slow, but pretty good, three sets

into the pattern
They are trying to extend pretty well
She falls
And they were doing fairly well

step sequence
Pause

He falls

Rotational lift to end. Good rotational speed.

They have something. They need more speed. Too bad about the falls, guys.

I'm watching because I love tangoes, but alas I can't do a play by play because I don't know enough about ice dance to do so.

Like I thought Team Armenia started off OK, but Ted tells me they were off the game the whole way through.

She wore a very pretty red dress though!

I could give the scores though - 19.36 in TES 34.84 TS

Debuted last season. 2nd at NRW Summer Trophy this season
Best SD under old rules, 29.51 at ISU JGP Cup of Austria 2017

RD: Argentine Tango: "Tango de Besame" performed by Benise; Waltz: "Corazon d'Oro" by Lalo Shifrin; choreo by Mariana Kozlova, Alexander Tolstik
FD: "Say Something" by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera; "Sixth Breath" by Ezio Bosso; "The Last Breath" by Ezio Bosso; choreo by Mariana Kozlova, Alexander Tolstik

The black onesie, but the girl has a black dress with a red underskirt.

Curve Lift to start. Nice complex spinning exit

Into the pattern
Faster than the last couple, bigger pattern
Either the stream is off or some of the steps not on beat ?? And not close to each other.

not touch step sequence. Nice arms. not to the tango. I like this :)

Into twizzles. Alas he stumbles on third set.

But not bad at all.

Team Germany had a really nice rotational lift and I liked their ending

Home team on the ice now, and Mira Isabel is wearing neon pink! Very interesting choice!

Ah it's Pink Panther, makes sense then.

PS I can do the scores!

Just tuned in, and I have a disagreement with that shocking pink dress.

Well I didn't think Pink Panther could be tango, but they managed it! That was pretty cool.

Also...there was a very odd looking mascot/fan up in the stands, looked a bit like a tree!

Now these costumes are an interesting choice for a tango!

Team Belarus look very elegant though!
