2018 Olympic Figure Skating Free Dance

You'll never know. There might be another 13th place Worlds finisher challenging for gold in the upcoming year. ;)

To be quite honest, I could see Laurence and Nikolaj getting up there!!!
Maybe if they get on the World podium, Denmark will finally give her citizenship and they can go out and slay like they should have gotten to do here :drama:

Oh my god, the montage of Tessa and Scott through the years by CBC! Amazing! How often do you have footage of a team skating together since they could stand practically?

I remember seeing Tess and Scott live in their very first senior grand prix — Skate Canada — and they performed Valse Triste (still one of my favourite programs of theirs). They were future champions, no question. And guess who won that event? Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon!

Can I also just say that Piper and Paul hit it out of the park? Fabulous FD. They deserved better than to be buried in the field. I can only imagine what the results might have been if they'd had this program all season...

Weaver and Poje, while they skated well here, left their best performance of Je Suis Malade on Canadian nationals ice. They were totally underscored in the short, though.

Gutted for Chock and Bates. I'm one of the few who really liked this FD.

And I was really hoping for the bronze for H/D as well.

It's a shame for the french team and it's a shame there is some perception that if it's not gold it's nothing. They won a silver medal at the olympics and they won the free skate. How can anyone say they were robbed. Robbed by who? V/M? the judges?

They messed up the twizzles yesterday - it was a very obvious error even for a lay viewer. Many people think that was more like a 3 -4 point error. It distracted from the performance; their PCS should have been lower It's a shame it happened to them but at the end of the day the costume is up to the skater. Other skaters' should not have to suffer because someone's costume malfunctioned.

If anything these olympics should make people realize that there are two parts to the program and V/M were superior yesterday and pretty much matched the french today. Everyone knew one mistake would cost the winner. The french made the mistake.

Robbed by the dress, of course! We all know they had errors and V/M definitely deserved it. But we would have liked to not have had a costume malfunction for Gabby.

The Shibs won an individual Olympic medal. I can die now.

I'm also going to forget the nonsense of H/D having higher PCS than them.

i love how they went back to the original 'risque' lift. It was like they went "**** it. This is our last skate. We don't owe anyone anything."

Rain...I love CB Free dance, and was gutted for them. Still can't breathe about VM....I mean can not explain how much i loved that performance (not necessarily saying love that dance, but LOVE what they just did so, so much)

SHIBS ARE GONNA MEDAL YOU GUYS

Sad for H/D but SHIBS

4 Olympics in a row with the US on the ice dance podium! I'm so happy for the Shibs! :hap85:hap85::yes2::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:
Yeah, I cried after they finished, from relief, joy, happiness, elation... So many emotions encompassed by this performance.

And yet another story about power of self-trust and self-belief, perserverance in going forward. As they believe, we believed too, in them, their material. A beautiful moment for them to cherish.

V/M thoroughly deserve their win but I wonder if the audience reaction wasn't so big would the judges have gone with them. And tbh V/M have a bigger fan base and a more devoted one as they come from a bigger figure skating country than P/C so they're bound to get a bigger cheer. You could hear the difference in support when they were introduced.

Crowd-pleasing programs always help, for better or worse. V/M were absolutely hurt in 2014 doing The Seasons as opposed to Scheherazade.
