2018 Olympic Figure Skating Free Dance

Except for this gpf, Tessa and Scott won EVERYTHING after the comeback.
Ok, ice dance is something else, but they did what Mao, Patrick, Carolina, Volosozhar/Trankov big etc couldn't do.

Ice dance is something else. When you take time off, it becomes impossible to jump, which is required in other disciplines. Not that ice dance is easier, but jumps requires more physicality that you lose very quickly if you don't practice everyday. Ice dance is more about stoking and precision and that is not something you lose as quickly. It's incomparable to other disciplines.

So proud of you Tessa & Scott just so amazing ... So many things to write but I'm enjoying that moment right now

Honestly I think the reason why I feel so gutted for P/C is because there's the knowledge that they could've done better (SD). I think I would've been content if both dances were the best they could've possibly done and still got #2 but yeah, it sucks.

Well I'm not sure I would call Carolina the GOAT but damn is she one stunning skater. I hope she keeps the TES as high as her PCS and with a clean skate she'd undoubtedly get on that podium.

Now I'm imaging Carolina as an ice dancer. Her and Shoma can team up, she can lift him =)

Again woke up for breakfast just to see the final group. Eurosport Finland live and my favuourite commentator Mika Saarelainen, who is also a judge. I have learned a lot. And sometimes he disagrees with the judges. Today he said that nice not to be a judge today, because the top pairs are so different and so close. He said also that Shib's twizzles are the best in the world. Yes, I agree and I also am happy they medalled. I even do not know why their are my favourites, I just like them. I am not the biggest fan of dance, but some pairs are worth to watch. I am not biggest fan of the French, but I admit they are good and worth of watching, too.

As someone from the dance (not ice dance) world, I get that Virtue/Moir are sentimental favorites to what seems a vast number of fans, but... it is basically incomprehensible to me that they could ever defeat a team with the performance qualities of Papadakis/Cizeron. There is something wrong with the scoring system when what appears to me to be a vast difference artistically and performance wise is recognized by only 1/2 a point in the PCS score. Basically VM won the gold medal only because PC got a level 3 in one of their step sequences in the SD. Given the problem with the costume it is hardly surprising. VM was very lucky to win.

I may not agree with the exact TES/PCS the dance teams earned (a bit too much distance between top 2 and 'everyone else'), but I do feel the top 5 were placed correctly, at least. Feel just awful about Chock/Bates' fall! anyone know why they got 2 deductions, and what the other teams who got a deduction did wrong? Time penalties on lifts, or what?

Chock/Bates got 2 deductions because they both fell. The other deduction was a time penalty on a lift.

Just woke up and the SHIBS HAVE A MEDAL!!! GUYS, THE SHIBS ARE OLYMPIC MEDALISTS!!! :party2:

Yep, and they likely know that
