2018 Olympic Figure Skating Free Dance

No offense to CBC, but why are they using such a depressing song for this recap???
Like, it's akin to a sad fan video for any number of teen television dramas.
Shouldn't you be celebrating???

I may not agree with the exact TES/PCS the dance teams earned (a bit too much distance between top 2 and 'everyone else'), but I do feel the top 5 were placed correctly, at least. Feel just awful about Chock/Bates' fall! anyone know why they got 2 deductions, and what the other teams who got a deduction did wrong? Time penalties on lifts, or what?

Two people fall=2point deduction.

Falls are -2 deductions each I think in ice dance.

4 Olympics in a row with the US on the ice dance podium! I'm so happy for the Shibs! :hap85:hap85::yes2::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

I think it may actually have been okay for the result to be what it was.. I feel like if P/C had won gold then they would've recieved so much hate for it and I would hate for that too.

By the way..just for some perspective the Ottawa Citizen's Headline right now? Our long National Nightmare is finally Over! Canada beats Japan (in curling)

Nobody in the world can do what Scott and Tessa can do either. They were perfect and all their dances are new challenges. So happy they won! I'm amazed how they've continued to improve each year.

The french have a bright future - i expect to see them in 4 years plus definitely world medalists- they may end up getting the record for world medals.

at same time, it's remarkable for V/M to be at the top of the world for 3 straight olympics to get 2 golds and a silver plus team medals. It's a rare athlete who can do that in any sport. They cemented their legacy. Hopefully, the french will start a new one.

For P/C the only problem for the next four years is getting bored dominating all the other teams because i don't see anyone challenging them.

You'll never know. There might be another 13th place Worlds finisher challenging for gold in the upcoming year. ;)

I'm weeping --- and want to see a LOT of gushing for VM....is there a CBC link for non-Canadians to see?

Placements are right but not for the FD. Virtue and Moir gave the best performance technically and artistically of the night. Still lost the FD by 1 point.

The French still got higher TES than Tessa and Scott means this system really needs to be changed. I honestly think the French's lifts are really average in this last group, the other teams have more difficult/creative positions.

It was changed to not automatically sway everyone to giving 6.0s to bombastic lifts that crecendo to weak nicole kidman vocals and to disect and justify nuances and .....taste.

Huh, Barbara Ann Scott was 19 when she won her OGM.
My grandma wanted me to be just like Barbara when I started skating :)

That moment when they defied world's disbelief by believing, trusting in themselves.

What a story, what a team, what a spirit and drive to come back and clench the title.

No doubt they were able to peak with this program in absolutely extraordinary manner and create an absolution, an epitome of Olympic moment that will go down for ages.

Still cannot believe it actually happened. What a perserverance.
