Are you talking about T/M or D/R? I'm confused because despite their problems T/M have better lines (objectively) and are more aesthetically pleasing (subjectively) than D/R.

Crazy things - in 2014 the last qualifying team got 51.64 (Della Monica and Guarise)! This year it's 63.04 (Hocke and Blommaert)!

and 4 years later this same team is in the top 10 with 74.00 points

And their not even the top Italian team! Italian pairs sure have come a long way from 4 years ago

On a slightly different note, I'm really glad to see so many people tuning in to watch and commenting on the Pairs' competition. I know it's because it's the Olympics, but the Pairs event has been really lagging behind in popularity (along with Ice Dance) when compared to the Ladies and the Men. And it is suuuuuuuuch a great discipline :luv17: It was really lovely reading everyone's comments

I know. Right now, I think pairs is the discipline with the most depth and all the teams actually give a performance. I hope more people come to appreciate pairs!

I think Vancouver was sad and sochi was sad but I believe Aljona would accept this possible third Bronze.

Didn't Aliona almost paired with Trankov several years ago? Anyway, gold isn't that impossible.

In the Olympics, it's always been TES that primarily decided the winner. PCS are just equalizers of odds.
