2018 Olympic Figure Skating Short Dance

If that's not a top three SD I'll be :ddevil:

Make that :ddevil: :ddevil: :ddevil:

So MrsP, what's the level for the rhumba?

The Piper and Paul quirk factor never fails to draw me in

I really don't understand why so many people think they have a "quirk" factor? There was nothing our of the ordinary about this dance. It seems they had "quirky" dances when they were trying to hide her dismal skating and that has stuck with them. But using music that is not frequently used is not quirky.

Live Yuzudaughter Commentary: “Eww, why would anyone want to skate with their brother? Gross. I don’t even have a brother, but I know it would be gross because all my friends who have brothers say their brothers have sweaty hands...”

Although I need the enhanced view from NBC for the scoring, I was super angry at the Rhumba level 3 the entire time, oh down to level 2, what?!

Shibutani / Shibutani

Beautiful curves through the rhumba step (surprised with the Level 2). Very smooth through the holds and steps in the partial step (Level 3). Fantastic twizzles right to the count of the music (Level 4). Great emphasis of the beat in the midline step (Level 4!). Great lift behind the back that accelerated as it went along.

Plenty of pizzazz and wonderful feet with no stumbling or wobbling. Not sure about the rhumba step being so low in level but their twizzles and midline step were fantastic. A fun, uplifting Latin dance. Wonderful job!

Shibs' outfits clash

They darkened his top compared to the earlier version (which looked like the skin tone mesh part of Maia's costume). I prefer this top.

Proud of the Shibutanis, they did a great job!

Also enjoyed G/P (as usual) and I loved the lift for W/P at the end.

The shibs are so adorable! I like their style. The lovey dovey stuff most ice dance partners do is just too much for me. this is refreshing.
