I'm not here for these kinds of "scandals" where a woman's body gets scrutinized, sensored and maybe even penalized. Poor Gabby

It's so weird. I don't have it either.
I was able to stream on my phone earlier in the morning but not from my PC now, and I only watched G/P and W/P then

If you people have been watching Ice Dancing for so long and are seriously asking yourselves about P/C SS being "a bit better" than C/B, I'm a bit worried, and that is nothing to take away from C/B (whom I really like). I get you want to make yourselves feel a bit better because somehow they've been overscored in the SS departement, but no, not when even Marie-France says it.

I advise you to rewatch it and not focusing on the incident at all and you'll see why they got such a high score. Read protocols while you're at it, you'll see where they lost points and the Pst level, that might make a bit of sense.

Man, P/C really gave an opportunity to people here, that's disappointing. Everyone talking about how "the fix is in" but no one can read properly the sheet score, asking yourself about Tessa's odd second chochtaw, or why the Skate Canada president is judging either. It will be all on that malfunction, because showing your breast on TV is not enough of a nightmare, fanwars must go on :sad21:

I'm done with Eurosport's approach to Ice Dance, apparently they only went live at 4am CET last night (as opposed to 2am like they did for men and pairs), and now it's not on demand either.
Gabby had the halterneck unclasp at the beginning of the program and poor girl was one one hand trying to sell it like nobody's business, on the other trying to make sure her top does not completely fall off. And people on this board are crying out for blood because apparently a 2 point gap is not big enough for V/M to comfortably win it all.

I VPN'd to Sweden and they have the whole thing (so if you're willing to do that you can see it all but what a ridiculous thing!). It actually came down to this, but it's so weird that they just don't have it at all? Even the Team Events were available in full

I can't stop thinking about how mortifying that must have been for Gabriella Papadakis... one of the gold-medal favorites in front of an audience of millions. I love and admire her so much, and I really hope that she's going to be okay. I don't know enough about her character to predict how she'll cope with what happened. Sending positive energy her way.

I saw British Eurosport is showing short replays throughout the day but these weren't uploaded to demand earlier in the competition so I guess one has to catch it live? Ugh. I tried a bunch of things and VPN'd to Sweden and they have the whole thing available but I'm apprehensive now because I don't want to watch something like this....

I've only just started following fan reactions this season (and late, like at the EC) and I had no idea ice dance was such a polarized field I like everyone and my only take away from this is POOR GABBY SHE DESERVES BETTER.

Can someone explain to me why all of the teams are getting level 4 for lifts? Same thing happened at the Europeans, and I find it a bit ridiculous and redundant.

But then again, ice dancing is a bit of an enigma for me.

That's not stupid at all. They had twizzle level 3 and very few positive GOEs :/ they did not make a clear mistake but their Twz are always shaky, it looks like there's a check of balance :/

After having watched the top 5, I feel the same way I felt watching pairs. The women are FAB, they're dazzling, they're amazing and I had trouble even noticing some of the men (who are also great).

Gabby but she really performed fantastic given the circumstances, I would've slunk off the ice never to be seen again mid-performance.

Well, I've enjoyed this event! I"m not a big fan of latin and there were too many horrible costumes (why Tessa and Madison, why??:noshake: but I think most teams skated well, the last group was stunning. I underdtand zero about scoring but my favorite short dance was from the Shibs!! Does anybody else miss the original dance? I was watching some old competitions and I really miss it

They were live for the whole thing. Maybe not ES 1 or 2, but Eurosport player had the whole thing.
SD was available on demand this morning, but now is gone for me as well. Maybe they are editing things out.

As for deductions - I'm glad they didn't get one. Men show nipples in skating all the time. No double standards!

Well I definitely hope they will put it up again after edits! What am I paying for otherwise? I'm glad I decided to wake up at 4am after all, but what if I hadn't?

I have tried to make up my mind on wether I prefer V/M or P/C all season and have not yet come to a coclusion (probably never will). Love them both for there own strengths and style.
I think I might prefer V/M in the SD and P/C in the FD. But on the other hand I like P/Cs SD as well (love their smooth skating), oh darn I dunno. I just hope both skate clean in the FD and enjoy their Olympic spotlight.
I've got to admit though that in todays SD V/M's performance was clearly the better one IMO and I'm a little llljjjjlrllrrghh about that small difference between them and P/C. Even though I have a huge respect for Gaby for delivering such a program with a costume malfunction I feel like the program was not good enough for such a high score..
No need for a costume deduction though, I don't think there should be a discussion about that?
If both teams skate clean in the FD I Think P/C should definitly win the FD portion but it would be kind of hard for me to really enjoy them winnig gold if it's because of that a little dubious score in the SD...

Oh well, I should learn to invest myself more in certain teams than in all of them at once, it makes life so much easier

Edit to say, I'm not looking forward to all the hate that's gonna be thrown around by some no matter the outcome. Really takes away from the sport and these wonderful skaters.

She seemed embarrassed and angry, not devastated. I hope she has time to relax and try to laugh about it a little, it's a nipple, not the end of the world! She's a tough cookie though, I'm sure it will fuel them for tomorrow's FD.

Apparently they had a team meeting with lots of laughter and tears. I think they'll be alright.
