2018 US Championships Sr. Ladies SP

Why is so low crowd? It is Olympic year!! What da hell? I remember huge crowd last year

It's Wednesday night during a week where most people are returning to work from a holiday break. Plus it's the first big rain in the Bay Area in a while. I expected the crowd to be about this size.

At least the organizers were efficient and did the Lifetime Achievement Awards during the zamboni break.

First year I'm watching US Nats without icenetwork and I'm forced to use a bootlegged livestream of a Japanese TV station to see the US ladies.

Looking at the schedule you really can see how low the ladies have fallen - SP is in the middle of the week and a church night for a lot of people and the FS is in the middle of the day on Friday. So the availability of big audiences or showing events live to draw in new fans is low.

**I can't get on the feeds, have we seen the ladies with the US flag shirts yet? Because it's not Nationals until those ladies are spotted

A small thing I would love Bradie to focus on is her mouth. She has lovely facial expressions when she wants but sometimes she skates with her mouth open and it isn't the most flattering. This is obviously ignoring jumps and spins because that would be absurd to expect a skater to grin through a tough jump or spin.

Well I have been able to see roughly 30 seconds of Hannah's skate thanks to Icenetwork. I used to be one of the really lucky ones who didn't have too many issues with Icenetwork but this year has been terrible.

Oh the camera person actually decided to move after cutting her off mid-spin for a while ... nice ... :palmf:

I like the percussion intro.. nice choice!!!!

Hanner Miller

Good 2A to start, and right into a very solid 3F out of clear footwork. She does have good centering on the spins, but she could have better positions. Only managed a 3T+2T in the second half. Not sure what the camera was doing on the third spin but it looked like a good spin nonetheless, and I was quite impressed with the strong, flowing curves in her footwork sequence.

I felt that she more connected with the music at the first half of the program than the second half, but I like the unusual music choices and she does have good choreography and interpretation.
