But wouldn't you rather have a competition where everyone skates cleanly, and may the best skater win? Maybe it's because I never belittle any skater because of their mistakes why I don't tolerate when others do. I don't say anything at all. I learned that if you don't have something nice to say, you shouldn't say it at all. I know it's a blurred line because criticism is a part of figure skating and fans want skaters to be the best they can be, but it's all about balance.
Yes I agree with you, that it would be a great competition if everyone skated cleanly. But, that don’t usually happen. Someone always falls due to whatever nerves, injuries etc. Some skaters never fall, others can never do a clean program. Who’s to judge the best skater of a competition....the skater that never falls, falls three times or the skater that always falls skates a almost clean program. Isn’t that a fair competition. Some fans are happy, some are sad because of the outcome.
