My Mom has been in the hospital the last few days. She's ok but I'm just not up for doing PBP today. If someone could step up that would be most appreciated.

If you are in NYC and do need to go to a hospital, I highly recommend NYU's Medical Center. Very nice and helpful staff there. Much better than Mount Sinai.

Sorry to hear that WeakAnkles, I hope your mom gets better soon. It's reassuring to hear the staff there are good though.

I am not sure my PBP is even 0.1% of the quality yours is, but I can give it a go if nobody else is able to!

Sorry to hear about your mother, WeakAnkles. I'll give the PBP a shot too, except for dance which I have no clue about the elements.

I wasn't really planning on watching novice and juniors at Nationals, but I'm sick as a dog and off work, and Ted Barton always helps with that, so ... :)

Sorry to hear you're unwell! But yes, Ted does improve a bad day :)

I'll comment on twizzles, costumes and overall effect but won't be any good at PBPing the key points or steps...

Planned programme content submissions to the rescue? Or the Almighty Box. You don’t have to list the levels as called on-screen or the kpYNNY in a PBP — it’s a PBP, not protocols. The best PBPs are less detailed in that respect, in my opinion. They show me the elements in the order they were performed, note any flaws visible in real time (including possible <, e, etc., calls if blatant or suspected on replay), if TES drops off a cliff between the ice and the score announcement, and... that’s actually a really solid summary that helps me to follow along or catch up if I have to look away.

New team, joined up in 2018. Yuka has been released by the Japanese Federation to skate for Canada internationally from February onwards.

She is in red dress with open back, he in black shirt and trousers.

Quite nice and tight twizzles.

Steps looked good (tiny bit slow maybe) but I have no idea about KPs.

Change in tempo.

Very cool split leg on shoulder spin.

I think they have nice potential! Seemed like a bit more speed may have given it a bit more oomph.

Ted says: "What a nice job. Pushing the limits. Beautiful twizzles."

Score: 60.41

2 Alicia Fabbri / Paul Ayer

Missed the start.

Glittery red dress for Alicia, black shirt for Paul.

Twizzles had no obvious error but not quite enough oomph.

Nice lift to finish with dramatic ending.

I enjoyed the previous one slightly more, but not bad.

Ted says: "Dramatic, powerful and pretty technical as well. Some people try to perform the character, some people are the character."

Score: 62.20 into 1st

3 Natalie D Alessandro / Bruce Waddell

Did Ted say they train at TCC?

Twizzles a little slow.

Improves after tempo change.

Lift to end.

Natalie has a very intricately decorated dress, I think it's new since the JGP.

Ted says: "See progress from JGP." Some nice comments but I got distracted.

Score: 58.75 into 3rd

Yes, they train at TCC with Andrew Hallam. Bruce is very good friends with Conrad.

This is great guys - I'm in class right now so I can't watch.

For a fourteen year old, Natalie was extremely impressive. I thought their lift was going straight into “MY LUGGAGE!”* territory, but she has core strength and managed to bail him out of a bit of a wobble.

*When the girl is slung horizontally across the guy in a sloppy manner, it always reminds me of someone rushing through the airport, late for their flight, with their luggage flying all around and I have taken to calling such lifts “MY UNCHECKED BAGGAGE” or “MY LUGGAGE” lifts.

That was a great skate, but Irina’s dress is like a body length version of my kitchen dish towels and it’s driving me crazy.
