Jumping into the Russian Ladies event late, hello all!

Man it is disheartening to see the PCS scoring discrepancy between Japanese and Russian Nationals. I know national scores don’t “count” for many reasons but don’t tell me they can’t affect the perception of these skaters internationally.

Anyway, just saw Maia and she did great!

I really like Maiia. She is a lovely skater, but her jump technique is really bad and she is going to need to fix that because she is going to keep growing. She is going to a tall beautiful girl, she needs beautiful jump technique! Help her Sergei!

Just curious because I don't skate at all and don't understand what is proper technique on jumps, but can you explain what about Maiia's is so bad?

i love Guliakova‘s 2A! And her rippon looks beautiful, too. Not much else to say about her skating, unfortunately. Clean performance, she got the job done, so well done on that, though.

JF hates its skaters, RF really loves theirs. But, it is a huge contrast, isn't it? Jumping from the Japanese ladies to the Russian men was like entering a different universe in terms of scoring. You would swear they were scoring from different rule books.

But, Maiia is a truly beautiful skater! I agree!

Yes, this program isn't appropriate for her is it. It is the right type of music, but she needs less mature lyrics. It bothers me!

Guliakova is very good but Scheherazade programs are overshadowed in my mind by Davis/White or Yuna Kim. Good job tho.

Does anyone think that Maya Khromyh look similar to Anna Pogorilaya (besides myself ). Same looking, same long limbs & height, same "shifty nerves". ... and just as gorgeous in her skating!
