Does Kolesnikov have a 3A?

Even if Kolesnikov gets 3A, honestly, why rush him instead of giving him a regular junior season next year and letting him progress naturally through JGP, hopefully JGPF to JWC? Why treat every competition as the last one, like figure skating is about to come to an end every month? They will keep 3 spots in juniors even if they don’t medal this year.

I don’t get delaying decision to RCF… like, if Lutfullin doesn’t shake off Covid in 2-3 days (seriously?) then they have Rukhin and Anisimov. There was no particular controversy in the results. Are they hoping for some February Emergence, the latest, sweetest bloom of the Russian manhood? Is this a precursor to the ‘if all else fails, send Semenenko’???
It’s like the worst possible time to add uncertainty into people’s lives, let alone teens. That whole ‘which one of you, screw-ups, can prove himself worthy of calling himself a man’ got to stop.

He will have it, just like Arseniy who had a great season so far and he's even younger than Kolya. He represents thread to the medalists as he's not junior eligible this season yet, he will be 13 only in april but then I suppose he will get a JGP entries as he deserves that. I don't get it too because most of the participants can't even be named to the JWC team because they don't have minimums. What's the point of another competition? They can't decide between Rukhin and Kovalev? Artem did better at the last two comps (Nats & JNats). They aren't sure about Gleb's shape (seems like he tested negative)? There're St. Petersburg Championships in February. Look at him there. They don't think that Ilya is good enough for JWC? He has the highest SB among Russian juniors this season and was third junior at Senior Nats (there're only Gleb and Vlad who can't even go). At least, give a guaranteed place to a winner!

The results of the championship are really too similar to the result of some crazy lottery. If for some reason Yablokov really wanted to avoid participating in the World Championship, he could hardly have done more for this than he did in his FS. But he won first place with such skating!
It's just not clear what changes the federation is counting on. It would still make sense if someone proved that the main reason for countless falls was the poor quality of the ice. However, this is only a hypothesis and nothing more.

Well, they are going to put off deciding on the team event till the last day with the skaters having to continuously prove themselves at the training camp, so that's just how RusFed goes about things. Last time they ended up with a skater who peaked too early as a result of this approach.

I don't get it either. If it is true that Dikidzhi and Ugozhaev don't even have minimums, then their only options besides Y/L/K are Rukhin, Sarnovskiy and Anisimov. As @vorravorra said, Rukhin is obviously struggling with something at the moment. I doubt the added pressure of a JWC assignment would help him. Sarnovskiy does not have a reliable quad yet and it's only his first international junior season. Imo, it would be better for him to work towards more complicated technical content within the framework of the remaining domestic starts than training for JWC. And although I would be beside myself with joy and delight if Andrei A. got a trip to JWC, honestly, going by competition results the other three guys earned it more this season.
So the question remains, who is even supposed to be involved in this skate-off at RCF?

Good question, yes. I am also fond of both Rukhin and Anisimov, but on the balance Kovalev had more stable results, and Yablokov is, well, Yablokov.
Unless they really are capable of qualifying Dikidhzi and Ugozhaev last moment, then going for a do-over in… Saransk again? At least that would make some sense. But if they can’t, it’s just mean.
Did they confirm at least that Lutfullin doesn’t have Covid?

Yes, plus, both him and Yablokov are so strong in performance! And Rukhin needs to decide who he wants to be his coach… i mean, I know, it takes a village…

I think he stays in AoP. He closed his IG (guess why), but I saw that he thanked his new team for the support. He just needs some time.

At least Mishin has finally spoken. Kolyada is feeling well (good!) and they are working on getting ready in time (that sounds a bit iffy as it suggests he may not be).

Yikes... I was hoping that he had a very minor injury and was skipping Euros to avoid COVID, but that sounds like it was an actual thing that required time off the ice. I wonder if they will have Mark and possibly Andrei skate the Team Event in that case, assuming they split dance and men. Misha's their best bet at an individual medal, and he needs all the preparation time he can for that segment.

If there's one thing I am 100% sure about at these Olympics, it's that Russia won't split men for the team event.
