Well, I can now tell you that Timmy Chapman is skating with Ellie Korytek, as they've competed. Timmy Chapman is an enormous talent. I've not seen Ellie skate yet. They skated the SP at the Southern California Open Championships today and got a score of 54.22. They are in first place by almost 20 points. They skate again Saturday at 1 pm Pacific time.

From what I can tell, no Senior Pairs entered this event.

Is one of them not the correct age for the jgp. They have competed before and I was suprised that they were not added to isp and assigned a jgp based on the prior performance.

No, Timmy Chapman skated with Catherine Rivers last season. He now skates with Korytek.

I’m watching the livestream and the pairs are getting ready to warm up. Good luck to all skaters!!!

.And as I expected Timmy and Ellie won by a lot. All positive GOE except for one element and one fall. IF he can find a partner he stays with/stays with him (I don't know the circumstances of his splits) I really think he will be the next male US pairs star.

I'm told Timmy is too old to compete internationally as a junior, which I fear means we won't see them all that much this year.

Right, re Timmy having aged out of juniors. How old is Ellie Korytek? Didn't she recently have a younger partner? She's the young pairs girl Chris Knierim worked on a quad twist with. OnIcePerspectives filmed a great slo-mo video of Chris launching Ellie up into a series of 3-twists, with one quad twist in the mix. It's amazing. OIP uploaded the video to TikTok! 🤩

Depending on how old Ellie is, they will have to wait for international assignments, similar to S.Baram/ D.Tioumentsev. Mokhov/Mokhova have had to wait for several seasons too, but they are now able to compete this season for the first time on the GP.

I hope the recent age change rules won't end up making the wait for K/C and for B/T even longer.

ETA:
Answering my own question, Ellie K. used to skate with Allan Fisher. Here is the OIP-filmed video of twist training for Ellie K, with Chris Knierim assisting:

Jessica Calalang has posted on Instagram that she's attending UC (Irvine?) this fall. I will miss Jess and Brian. I wonder if Jess has decided to not search for another partner, but to just move on to continue coaching and enjoying her life? Good luck to Jess at school and in whatever choices she makes! 💖🎓

I can't find Ellie's age. I think I found about the same things you did. He must really want to skate with her. I hope it is a good partnership that will last.

After reviewing the list I made, I noted the absence of Collier/Mitrofanov. Has anyone heard anything about them lately?

They are still training. Apparently, Simon Shnapir has spoken about their progress, which is steady but incremental. Collier is new to pairs, and it takes time to learn the new skills.

Check out Polina Edmunds latest podcast BLEAV, on all podcasting platforms. She speaks with Tarah Kayne. It's a very good episode. Tarah spoke revealingly about her career and the process of learning pairs and trusting your partner. It's worth listening. 💖

Well, Sofia and her mom are back in Colorado and she told Danny I said "Please don't quit." She said he laughed at her but told her to tell me thank you.

^^ Ummm, who is Sofia? Can you refresh my memory, or maybe I missed something earlier? I'm glad your msg of support was relayed to Danny! 😃 Yet clearly, his laughter indicates he isn't giving us anything. Since there have been no announcements, it looks like he may simply be assisting with pairs training in Colorado.

Danny has been seen in group pairs practices posted by Mishketunok on Instagram. He could just be working with a girl or girl(s) who don't have partners yet, but who are in training.

Sofia Frank is a singles skater who represents the Philippines in Senior Ladies. I met her and her mother at Philly International. She trains in Colorado Springs with Tammy Gambill. After she told me this (on IG) I said "Danny doesn't know who I am." She said "He does now."

This weekend at Skate Houston there is one Senior Pair entered.

Nina Ouellette, SC of San Francisco
Rique Newby-Estrella, Dallas FSC

I am not familiar with them. Is anyone else? It looks like they've competed once already at an NQS event with total score 115.29.

No Junior Pairs entered:(

Nina Ouellette has competed internationally as a singles skater, but back in 2015 and 2016. She hasn't qualified for Nationals in a while. So it seems she had switched to pairs?
