Unpopular opinion, but I actually prefer Asia to Europe for the Winter Olympics. I work as a school library media specialist, so I can’t take time off just because I want to watch the Olympics, so the morning to early afternoon China time/evening to night central time and evening to night China time/early morning central time works for me. When the winter Olympics are back in Europe, everything will be live during the school day, which sucks more than having to wake up at 5 am for me.
By 2026, my life will probably be different to how it is now....which mean by the time the next ones happen, I might have a harder time catching up. We'll see.

The time difference has worked well for me (in NZ) this time round, mainly because they started so many competitions early in the day. The Rhythm Dance starts at 11pm my time tonight, though, and like many others, I'm exhausted from watching the men live. So I will watch on replay tomorrow (Sunday). I'm interested in what Tessa and Scott have to say. Not really invested in the outcome. Just want to relax and enjoy all the teams and their glorious diversity.

I'm noping out of a 5 am start time. Someone cheer extra loud for Kaitlyn and Jean Luc. I can leave one hand here for holding but I'll need the other..

Um, their skate doesn't start till 7:56 Eastern. So nearly 2 hours after start comp time, if that helps. (It helps me, being a night owl not a lark :)

That's 6:56 Central:( When I wake up to watch them I've found I get super annoyed over how low they are scored. Even more so than when I was awake. Like "I woke up for you to low score my babies?"

LOL. Yeah, I get that. Fortunately the FD will be in the evening. I know you're in Central time zone, but I just thought nearly 7 is a whole heap of a lot better than 5 a.m. But the nice thing is that you can watch it on Peacock or other places once you've propped your eyes open. 8 is still early for me, but coffee may help! I will cheer for them, and many other will too I'm sure.

Not gonna watch live...and I am not staying off of social media tomorrow....if I see the results, so be it. While I have my favs, Ice dancing for me is all about the artistry and emotion and music....we will have happy hour, dinner, and then stream the replay. Will save the drama for Sunday after supper.

Well bad news for my fellow Aussies it would appear that Channel 7 isn't streaming the RD! At least I couldn't find it anywhere.

Protip: You can access the Olympics YouTube stream if you set your VPN to Uruguay. 😅

Technical panel is the same used in Sochi 2014. Technical controller is the chiar of ISU Ice Dance Technical Committee. Technical Specialist is also a member of the Technical Committee.

Compared to Team Event, 7 judges are the same. China and Great Britain are in instead of France and Italy.
