I think it is an accent to show speed and glide but don't quote me on it @Ichatdelune may be the one to ask about Korean style.

They need gray/silver skate covers. It's not necessary to put stripes on them, and hers can be a lighter shade if desired, but their skates look very jarring with the costumes, especially his.
