The common suffix for Georgian last names is -shvilli or -dze, like in Kvitalashvilli and Tutberidze. Niyaz in her last name probably points to one of many Muslim ethnicities in her background.Why do you think Stalin wasn't known by his real surname?
I brought him up because Polina's surname starts the same way. Which started me wondering - has she got Georgian ancestry? And if she does, why did she not opt to represent them?
Is she a recent arrival to Hungary, or has she always been there?

@anonymoose_au - thank you for the mention, but my poor crepe paper, wire and miles of florist tape couldn't compare to THIS real thing in such size

From her last name, I would have more so expected her to have Turkic ancestry - Kazhastan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, not necessarily Georgian.
As for why she represents Hungary, she has Hungarian ancestry through her paternal grandfather.
She started representing Hungary last season, prior to that she competed domestically in Russia, where she was born and raised (and still lives and trains).

I thought about making huge single flowers to gift, but travelling logistics of being solo plus trying to be inside budget are my enemies. Besides, what's good for decoration is not necessarily the most practical as a giftLooks like you have your goals set out for you!

You have no idea how much my jaw dropped when I saw the title of the song that Sophia is skating to.
Suffice to say, getting shot in the kneecaps ("kneecapping") is a rather common punishment by the paramilitary gangs in certain parts of NI.
Not the best skate, unfortunately.
Ted, she doesn't get to train much because it's a 3 hour journey each way to get to and from the rink from where she lives!
You can't really do that often during the school year. Hence why she only gets a lot of ice time during the summer when visiting family in Belarus.
