What impressed me the most about Alysa is that during US Nationals, she attempted some 3A’s during her practice time. She was unsuccessful. But, I loved that she was pushing herself technically, already. I think she wants to regain that jump for Olympic season.New Alysa Liu interview: https://adivinesport.com/2025/02/18/alysa-liu-on-off-the-ice/
It'll be interesting to see where she's at. Isabeau posted a clip on Instagram of herself doing a 3F3Lo in her SP runthrough.Wow Isabeau's doing the olympic test skate. I guess she must be read or think she is ready for worlds. This will be interesting.
Alexa has SO MUCH talent. i watched her rinkside a couple years ago at sectionals and her jumps absolutely blew me away. she's got all the skill needed to get to the top 10 at nationals, but she really needs to work on her skating skills, refinement, and overall presentation to get there. i hope we see her on the podium one day.Bradie just did very well in both programs at the 2025 Maria Olszewska Memorial. She scored a total of 220.29 which is the highest score for an American woman this year. The judging was a bit lenient and her 3-3s may not have been fully rotated more like qs, but nevertheless, she appears to be back to preinjury shape. She had similiar scores before her injury in 2020. I think she a strong contender for the Olympics next year if she can stay healthy. It is nice to see the US women's team seemingly so strong right now. I hope the women can stay healthy and those who are injured like Ava Marie can also come back strong next year. It seems like the Olympics team will be very difficult to choose.
Also Alexa Gasparotto landed a 3A in the SP in this event. She really has high jumps. She may lack the stamina needed for her programs, though. Since she had very messy landings and pops on other jumps. She is a real jumping talent hopefully she can clean up her landings.
Liu beat Bradie by more then 15 points at Nationals and i trust her more at Worlds then Tenell who's last couple of trips to Worlds were not exactly word beating. You have to say Isabeau and her team played their cards very well (much like Brown in men's). I don't think she goes to World's in any other scenario. She has not shown any form this season, simply the jumps are much harder for her now. It's not a problem that with be resolved if she is 100% injury free.
I'm not sure how Tennell can continue on if they don't reward her with a spot for World's. She couldn't have done much more this season to earn that spot. I'd have her ahead of Liu as well.
That's US scoring though. The judges aren't so enamoured by Liu's programs at international level. It seems Tennell has been peaking the further this season has gone.Liu beat Bradie by more then 15 points at Nationals and i trust her more at Worlds then Tenell who's last couple of trips to Worlds were not exactly word beating.
How is isabeau looking in the practice sessions? I really hope she doesn't lay on the ice for a long time after making a mistake. I want her to do well even if she doesn't medal. I feel really worried for her and her technique for Worlds and for next yearSuper glad to see Isabeau at worlds. I enjoy all the us women's skating but her in person is always incredible to watch. No need for conspiracy theories, just watch and enjoy.
She did beautifully in the first practice a couple of days ago; I have not seen her most recent practice but her short program yesterday (did you see it?) was lovely to my eyes. KMT commented she has “an unusual jump technique but it works for her”. Some comments after said she was slow compared to other skaters but that was likely just fluff speak.. she is my favorite type of skater, elegant, very musical with top notch competition mind set. I think she will do fineHow is isabeau looking in the practice sessions? I really hope she doesn't lay on the ice for a long time after making a mistake.
