From the performance so far this season, I have a hard time to see anyone would be able to challenge Maddie's position in this field. This is not good for Canadian Women.

That is true but Maddie hasn't had a good short program all season. I am not extremely confident we will see two great skates by the same skater at nationals. We saw one at Challenge however. Can Fée-Ann repeat her achievement? Also, with Fée-Ann, her jumps are big, less likely prone to URs.

I just hope Maddie has 2 good skates and that the judges do not hold her up just because she is the only one who can go to worlds. If she does not skate well it might be a nice wake up call if she was beaten. She still would be chosen for worlds. Just hope quite a few of our ladies have good skates. I remember well the years when the one who stood up the most was the one who won. And quite often they won with only 2 or 3 triples.

It bothers me that Skate Canada has not sent out more women to get their minimums or some international experience. Literally Maddie Schizas is getting the world’s spot even if she ends up last. (She won’t.) Skate Canada has put all their eggs in one basket, making this competition rather boring. What does it say to all the other women when Schizas is already on the world’s posters? If she gets injured, there will be no women’s representative at the home worlds.

And they've limited their options for 4CC too.

Situations can change very quickly like with ice dance right now. Ideally I'd like to see Fee Ann, Uliana and Audreanne sent to a senior B if they do well here. But if they will...

You would think Skate Canada would have learned something from Roman. He has been injured and had issues for most of this season - what if something like that happens to Maddie. There is no one else. Also Roman had to skate in the Team event at the Olympics because Keeghan couldn't. Again what if that happens to Maddie. And looking at the scores of the ladies at Euros Maddie really needs to up her Short program. Her SB in the short would put her 4th at Euros and that does not include the JPN, KOR or USA ladies. And if she has a short skate like in her GP events she may not even make the free.

Stream is starting. I wasn't planning on watching live, but ended up taking a WFH day due to the weather.

Kaetlyn's been working with Rose Theroux to help with the performance aspects, and said that it was shortly before Challenge that she made the move to Ravi Walia if anyone was looking for a timeframe on when the move happened.

Oh no, not the 1Ltz + 1T Julianne :( And a 3F + 2T after, eep and 1A :( I don't know how they'll handle two combos, hopefully they'll invalidate only the first one since neither of those jumps are valid.

Thanks for the reassurance that the tech panel is strict for the senior women too 😄 Also on the detail sheets, they counted Julianne's 3F + 2T and invalidated the 1Lz + 1T.

I liked that from Natalie, even if the jumps didn't fully work out.

Aww, Kaetlyn was nervous for Rose. I liked that from her, she did well after the 3T + 1T on the first jumping pass. That 2A was great.

Decent job by Cristina - Well done! :) I liked how she went into her jumps without much set up. Her spins could use more speed though.

Oh dear - rough skate for Katherine! :( The bellyflop in the step sequence would have taken the wind out of her, so she did well to keep performing as well as she did for the rest of the program. I really liked her dress as well.
