Another fantastic short program choreographed by Kaitlyn Weaver - she really is emerging as one of the best choreographers of this generation in my opinion, this program is so different from Mone's short but they are both fantastic and suit the individual skater so well. Amber's consistency in practice is actually insane - she hardly ever misses - and as a result, that 3A has become money for her nearly every time. It's definitely a tradeoff - it is more high-risk than a 2A, but I do think she got a touch excited after landing it so well and just overcooked the 3T. Despite that, though, she did so well to stay calm and do the 3Lo fantastically well.

Wow, Amber’s 3Axel is really first rate and she is showing she has ownership of that jump. She should be proud that she didn’t let the mistake on the 3toe derail the whole performance.

Amber is making progress competing. I'd still like to see a bit better skating skills on the step sequence to compete with these marvelous Japanese girls.

I would love to know how Amber came to choose this music. (It's a Janet Jackson deep cut and you would have to be a big fan to even know it. There are many better Janet songs.) Having said that, she seems to feel it so good for her. The axel and the loop were gorgeous. Hope the mistake forces her to fight for every jump in the free.

Please don't say that, it's the tenth anniversary of THAT crash at COC 14.... as it is I will be on tenterhooks watching the men's FS.
