2024 NHK Trophy Women's Free Skate

Who was it who complained about Chris being too positive yesterday? He's just been solemnly calling all these jumps now.
That's odd, he was excited during the dance, pairs and men.

He does seem rather subdued now... is he in Japan? I assume so since he keeps talking about seeing what the judges are up to. Still, maybe he's feeling jetlagged or whatever.

Katya always gives so much to the performance - she has an expressive face, and commits to the body and arm movements. It's so fun to watch her being a cat here. The jumps weren't working out so well, but she really fought hard to get that 2A-2A sequence; I thought she was too off-balance after the first axel to get it done, but get it done she did.

NHK is blitzing through the events, and maybe exhaustion finally caught up to him.
True. Although France did the same thing last week at Mark seemed OK.

But yeah, if he's battling a time difference that could explain it.

Olga looks so elegant! Except for the weird stockings over the top part of the boots, I can see why she'd do it (keeps the laces secure), but it looks... not the best.

Here's another skater who can contribute to the whole lovely skaters who can't rotate jumps conversation.
No but I really personally enjoyed this Chris. Maybe it's because I have no super favorites competing anymore, but he's pretty matter-of-fact, and empathetic without being toxically positive.
I don't mind him for singles. I just find his commentary for ice dance really base level.
