Maybe the cut? What was last year and how many pairs was last year?
There is more teams I believe, the cut can come close to 70 this year, but it will depends what others do. There are only 20 teams going to the free. My guess they may end up around nr. 25

You never know. Oakland U. (suburbs of Detroit) beat #3 Kentucky in men's last night.
Oh, I know anything can happen, but it'll be easier to watch by having realistic expectations, at least with regards to the basketball team. With my boys against BU tonight, that's the game I'm more nervous about because they are more than capable of winning it.

Even with all these '80s songs this afternoon, I think I'll still be humming The Maine Stein Song all day.

Ok, I've just tuned in - watching with a delay but catching up as I skip replays/waiting for the scores - so I'm 20 minutes behind. I've just finished watching an Ice Dancing team from my country, Poland - Oliver/Bojanowski and their debut at Worlds. This was quite good but Filip's edges were not so sure at times so I think this caused some levels to drop. A decent score for Poles, they managed to beat the Jakucs/Galli. The score won't be enough for a FD but it's not like I expected to see them there right now.

''Azeris'' (sorry, lol) had the best choreo rhythm sequence out of first three teams and a cool lift as well as convincing musicality. I'm slightly surprised they landed 3rd as their dance looked cleaner than one of the Dutch team.

I cheered them as my husband is originally from Poland. And I really like Olivia, lovely pair with good potential!

The weekend hasn't even started proper and I'm already :dbana:. I have a birthday party coming up on Saturday, men's FS during the night to Sunday, and then another birthday party on Sunday. And then a holiday - but it's not me going on holiday but somebody else and I'm sitting their cats which means getting up even earlier in order to take care of two packs of cats. :dbana:

Majorov in ID?!* I didn't know he made a switch, he looks ... very natural here. There was one super cool moment from Nikolas (you know which one!) at the end of the step sequence. They deservedly lead after the first flight with 60+ points.

*that's an unexpected positive coming from me not following figure skating too ... closely actually. I mostly just tune in for competitions.
