Notes:
I remember seeing Megan on the JGP last year and being super impressed, so I'm glad to see her again. She's got massive jumps, but her spins are beautiful, too, which is a rare combination in juniors! Of all the Canadian juniors, she strikes me as one with the most potential to be a real all-arounder. (Not counting Lia, not a junior yet...) Just could use a little more control in some of the jumps. Shame about the loop, but otherwise very nice!

Notes:
There was this moment at the beginning where I could practically see Julianna think to herself, "wait, remember to smile," and for a moment she did, then slipped back into Game Face Mode. It was pretty endearing and a nice reminder that these are just kids, at the end of the day. Julianna's jumps weren't cooperating today, but she has lots of power and very fast spins.

Notes:
Annika has big jumps and a lot of potential, but I've got mixed feelings about the program. On the one hand it accentuates her beautiful lines in a way I hadn't seen before, and her use of her arms is absolutely stunning - she's clearly been taking a lot of ballet, and she hits lovely positions. But on the other, I feel like the program moves a bit too fast for the music. To me, "The Swan" is very contemplative music...there's not much contemplative about the pacing of this program! That said, that's more about the choreography than Annika's execution, and I think if she relaxed into it a bit, it could be a really beautiful package.

Annika has super long lines and uses them well. Seeing her now, as an older Junior, she reminds me a bit of Ikura Kushida, which is a big compliment. Her jumps (like Ikura's, unfortunately) tend to be a little short of rotation (for different reasons, though).

What a great skate for Maria (provided the 2Lo was planned?)! She has very nice skating skills and transitions, but most of all, I just find her really enjoyable to watch. You can tell she loves to skate, and it shows both in her expression and in the quality of her elements. She should be very happy with that skate!

Beautiful dress! I'm not sure if anyone remembers this, but it reminds me of Nathalie Pechalat's "The Little Prince" dress from the 2014 Olympics...holy, that is a THROWBACK, haha. Ting-Yun is a very delicate skater with beautiful presentation, but the jumps went a little haywire this time around. I'd love to see bigger movements - sometimes she seemed a bit hesitant with her choreography.

I always like the pastel colour combinations, and this is no different. I think this was a good skate for her, just the small stumble on the 2A<.
