2025 GP Finlandia Trophy Rhythm Dance

Do you know how the GOE is factored on elements ?

The Choreographic steps have a completely different GOE factoring than other elements because it doesn't have any levels. So it's up entirely to the judges here to evaluate what was put on the ice. The French made a mistake on theirs because it got called at a place in the program that it isn't supposed to be. So that means that what was counted as their first element didn't have enough in it to be rewarded. Now, there are technicalities here about what is supposed to be done for the CHRS which means that FBC need to make sure they will not make that same mistake again because another panel could also call their first bits of choreo as their sequence.

So, back to the main point I was going to make : twizzles are a level element. The Goe factoring is much lower. So in that sense, you cannot compare GOEs from twizzles and CHRS because their respective scoring isn't done at all the same way.
I know how it works but canadians for a element with a mistake got higher goes than french

I don't know if I'm so unsatisfied with this because:

A. I don't like any of the Rhythm Dances this year.
B. I like Piper and Paul, but I detest their music choice.
C. I just flat out don't like the French.
D. I'm just in a bad mood.

in any case... this TP made some mistakes with the French CHRS and if they did that... how can we trust them with the rest of their calls ?

I cannot.
Maybe this tech panel is correct, and the others were wrong?

Maybe the fault lies with the skaters, and not the panel?

Maybe TPTB are subtly dropping the French in anticipation of Gabbi Papadakis' tell-all book-drop on the eve of the European Championships.

I love Piper's dress. But, you know what I always say about white costumes. They blend into the ice too well. And unfortunately this was no exception. At least Paul is wearing black trousers.

Never would have imagined I would ever see anybody skating to "I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred. Don't know the songs either side of it, but they weren't my taste at all.

But, I enjoyed the skating. Of course I did! It's Piper and Paul!

Boys, but I love them.

They go into 2nd position.

Usually the tech specialist follows one skater and assistant the other one, tech controller has the superior control over it, then during review I suppose they vote about the reviewed elements.
In "live", Technical Specialist 1 (here Towler Green) calls the Women and Technical Specialist 2 (here Pedrazzini) calls the Men. Technical Specialist 1 calls Lifts, Spins and Choreo Elements.
For the Pattern Step Sequence, the procedure is:
TS1 names the difficult turns performed by the Woman and will say “yes or no” based on the execution. TS2 names the difficult turns performed by the Man and will say “yes or no” based on the execution. When two (2) turns are performed at the same time, TS1 will name the difficult turn performed by the Woman and will say “yes or no” and then TS2 will name the difficult turn performed by the Man and say “yes or no.” Simultaneous execution of two (2) difficult turns can only occur once in the PSt. TS1 calls the level for the PST at the end of the elemen

If any member of the Technical Panel sees a reason to review an element, they say “REVIEW”

The TS2 and TC must keep track of the Reviews and Falls.
TS1 must also write down ALL steps during any Step Sequences/OFT/PSt performed by the Woman.
TS2 must also write down ALL steps during any Step Sequences/OFT/PSt performed by the Man.
Both TS2 and the TC write down what was called (Required Element and Level) during the program.

Before the Elements are authorized, the TC will verify with the panel the Elements and Levels are correct. If both the TS1 and TS2 state “agree”, the TC states “Elements Authorized”.

I'm not a fan of the song either.

Did you miss Allison Reed & Saulius Ambrulevicius using it? They are wonderful!

I was going to say "Was it not 'Do You Think I'm Sexy' by Rod Stewart that they were skating to last season?" But, I thought of checking just in case my memory is deceiving me, and found that "I'm Too Sexy" is one of their songs this season.

I haven't seen Allison and Saulius this season yet. The Senior GP's they did were France and Canada, and before today the only Senior GP I saw the Ice Dance at was China.

In the past few years, I've pretty much lost interest in the Senior GP Series. I now prefer to watch the Junior GP's and the Senior B's. More skaters, and more variety in the skaters.

I get the inkling that rather than judging this panel was about protecting the status quo. Its manipulation like this that will ensure either one of two things happen; two different panels for TES and PCS or they need to tank this sport.

They've seen FBCs RD at least twice, they know that the CHRST are the last element, and they pull this? Because they could get away with it? The panel needs an umpire or working referee. This is crazy. Pechalat should be screaming red platelets round about now.

Shame, shame, shame. They are perpetuating the fallacy that a great team cannot displace the appointed team, completely obliterating a fair competition.

Its just bizarre!
