2025 World Team Trophy Women's FS

As redemption goes, this is right up there.

Has a nightmare skate in the SP at Senior Worlds and gets knocked out. Then is on fire in both programmes at the WTT.

It's a pity that the overall results in each category don't count for anything. If Nastya manages to make it into the Top 3 here after what happened a couple of weeks ago, a medal is the least she deserves!

She goes into 2nd in both the FS and overall.

But, my goodness, she is close to Amber in the overall standings!

Hmm, I agree with your statements about Kaori; she should easily beat this field in PCS. As far as Alysa, I think her scores come from her amazing consistency, not because she has terrific presentation. There is nothing outstanding about Liu’s programs or choreography. She basically has no transitions in her programs and the composition of her FS is laughable, but she is such a calm competitor and enjoyable skater to watch. She really puts you at ease with her reliability and that’s why the judges really reward her in scoring. What really surprises me about Alysa is how the judges have turned a blind eye to some of her jump rotations since Boston Worlds. I wonder when that is going to catch up to her.
Alysa's Free is pretty empty, yes, but so is Amber's and their skating skills are overall in a similar ballpark (Amber is a bit faster, Alysa has slightly better edges), but I would say that Alysa's presentation is better than Amber's in the Free (or maybe it's just the style of program that makes it seem like that), I was comparing the PCS these two should be getting with each other, not saying that Alysa should be getting PCS like Kaori.

Rotations are unfortunately so dependent on the tech callers, and many of them get swayed by reputation either way. Some skaters get away with URs because they have a good reputation, others get called more strictly because they are known to have rotation issues (and visually imperfect landings).

Kaori has improved the quickness of her feet so much with this program and the detail of her presentation so much. It will make her stronger for next year when she chooses a style that suits her best. Her cat-foot abilities were really developed with the speed of this program - a handy skill to have honed.

I really like this program, I know most don't. Kaori's strongest skills have never been in the upper body movement or musicality so choosing this was really a challenge. However, as you said, I think she grew a lot this year. The performance today was quite good though the jumps were wild.

I've loved it since the beginning. Nobody appreciates difficult choreography anymore.
It really is a lot of fun. Kaori has always relied on her power and now her package is so much stronger now that she has developed her quickness. I love how she has embraced the fun of this program. This program just makes me happy.

You all know how I love the Japanese in general. And that is why I put them at the top of my predictions.

Kaori was good. But it is not going to save me.

She goes into 2nd in the FS, and the lead overall.
