Polina has gigantic jumps  But I really dislike this program.

It is a very boring program and doesn't fit her at all in my opinion. A shame, truly.

Gubanova made me reconsider her FS program. I thought it to be quite poor but actually, it has some highlight potential if she can skate it clean.

I tried to watch Konstantinova with an open mind, wondering if I might have misjudged her skating. But no, despite specifically looking for it, I couldn't find a hint of natural musicality. Just going through the motions. Definitely not for me at all.

Top 4 of 13.

1. Tsurskaya 207.95 FS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjRu_DW8G6w (mistake - no combo of 3 jumps, 2A+3T - 3T looks URed, but no URs in protocols)
2. Gubanova 199.95 FS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tH5rfmOVR90 (clean)
3. Konstantinova 194.68 FS (bonus 2 points) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFH4B-UKL3c (mistakes - two URs, doubled Loop, and at LSp, overscored I believe while deserves high PCS)
4. Fedichkina 175.43 FS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSTYK2mUTYI (mistakes - only 6 triples, 1A etc)

Bonus - only Konstantinova, other of Top4 - no bonuses.

Tsurskaya - places 2 and 1 of Events of Russian Cup (and does not need to qualify to Nats, she has GP Events).
Gubanova - places 2 and 2.
Konstantinova - places 1 and 3.
Fedichkina - place 4, it is her 1st Event.

I question Polina's rotation on the 2A-3T and 3L. Other than that the jumps look as great as always, shame about the 3 jump combo. Also, to pull the audience in with a program like that, she has to sell it to the fullest extent. Hopefully she'll be there by GPs.

Do you mean that Stasya got two bonuses in the sp and thus in the total? Because if it's in the FS then I missed it on the protocols...

Plenty of great skating in Sochi. M/G skated very well in the Seniors, they scored 120+ with a messed up lift. E/K skated well and actually landed their jumps. I was very impressed with the couple in 3rd, Buzeva and Ivanov. I never heard of them before but they skated very well. 2 falls in the long so they dropped from 2nd, but they skated a very nice short. Has anyone heard of them before?

The short was skated to Hallelujah

Looks like final Nationals place is between Alisa and Serafima. Both in identical position 4th place, 1 event to go, behind Polina in each (don't know if her results will be stripped out, but if so Stanislava and Anastasiia get a 1st and 2nd place so still the same situation). Will be good if have a 'skate-off' against each other rather than separate events and maybe count back/scores coming into it.

May be a situation - some not so strong girl will skate at 4th and 5th Events and because of not so strong competitors at these events will be ahead Alisa and Serafima.

I think the Skate Canada panel would have had a lot to say about her first lutz her 2A+3T and her loop... Her team should be careful in paying attention to the landing quality

Feditchkina will end up fourth at this Russian cup, which means that her spot at the nationals is not that certain. It will be battle between Feditchkina and Sakhanovich for the last spot.

Tarusina is coming! The spot is hers.

She has work to do though, considering her low PCS.

But international Tarusina's scores are better, especially considering her participation as a junior:

Minsk Ice Star
1. Anna Tarusina 187.84 (Juniors)
2. Serafima Sahanovich 174.49 (Seniors)

Coupe de Nice 2017
1. Alisa Fedichkina 182.08 (Seniors)

Also, Fedichkina is struggling with 2A, and Sakhanovich is barely skating her FP.

But anyway, will be interesting to see. It would be boring without rivalry even for the 18th spot.

This is true. I just hope that no one gets heartbroken but I feel like that is inevitable.
