All Star Survivor!

Hasta la vista, Rudy! :( Although I do believe it was the smart and compassionate thing to do...they guy is 75 years old!!!

I'm greatly hoping for a "Rup-Ethan" alliance! My fave boys there! (Although I love Lex as well!)

Yeah, the singing in the rain team, that was pretty cool. And as obnoxious as Rob M. can still be, he sure ain't as lazy as he used to be before! Showing more physical strength, as well as the willingness to actually USE it!

Rob C. still has some great commentary.

Here's to hoping that someone OTHER than Saboga goes to tribal council NEXT week!! Let's get rid of Richard...or Susan!

I keep expecting some of those weird-looking fish they keep pulling out of the ocean and eating to turn out to be poisonous. I'm not sure I'd be too confident about eating some random fish in the tropics, where half the time you don't know what's poisonous and what isn't. Tho I imagine Rupert did his homework in that area before he came down there; he strikes me as the type who would. But if anyone else came back with some exotic-looking stripy thing, I'm not sure I'd want to partake.

Let's get rid of Richard
Kasey, let's not.  He could win me a $100 in the Survivor Pool.
I can't believe that the vote came down to either Rudy or Ethan last night. Why oh why did no one think to vote off Jenna?? grrrrrr
Guinevere, exactly!! Why is Jenna calling all the shots for their tribe. I am shocked at Rupert's thought processes.

Some one commented about Rudy being 75, So-o-o-o-o-o, I would put my money on him any day before I would even put 50 cents up for Jenna or Jeri.

Rupert knows the area since they are back in Panama for all star. THe producers figured why waste a new location when the draw is the players.

Sad to see Rudy gone, but it was the best decision. It was good for Rupert that he stood by Rudy. Now, he can go to Ethan and say 'I didn't want to vote for you, but I gave my word to Rudy. I can give you my word, now'

Can't wait to see Richard tangle with a shark.

Better than that, I liked Rudy's final words last week (something to this effect)-----"Everything was all set up to vote Ethan off. I can see Ethan voting against me, but I can't see the other two people voting against me. And if I was them... I'd stay clear of me."

I just loved that--Rudy sounding like a hit man.

About 3/4 way thru tonights episode, I get a phone call from the cable company....we're having trouble with our reception, so I missed about 5 minutes of the showing during the time Jenna was announcing she wanted to leave the show.
It was quite sad to see her leave....I couldn't help thinking, tho, that with her mother so ill and already having been a winner, why did she return for All Stars?
She was following her heart requesting to be let off the show and it's a good thing she did since her mother passed...I don't think Jenna would've ever forgiven herself if she'd stayed.
I don't know of any updates on her.....we'll probably hear tomorrow morning, as Jenna will most likely be on the news/morning shows.

That had to be one of the best episodes of Survivor ever.

First off, Rich is the man for catching that shark (although you could say it caught him). The comment from Shii Ann was hilarious.

It was cool to see Rupert knocked down a peg or two from his pedestal, by Jerri of all people.

Rob M is easily my favorite of the season. He's being edited very positively.

Really sad about Jenna's mom. I thought that CBS did a good job showing some sensitivity about the whole matter. Alicia came off a little poorly though when she basically ripped Jenna for even bothering to do the show. Jenna's mom could've wanted Jenna to go out and do the show, and it finally ate at Jenna so much that she couldn't take it anymore and had to leave.

I think this was on its way to being a great episode before it became the Jenna show. I'm sure that I will be in the minority about this, but I was not moved by Jenna's histrionics. Don't get me wrong - I am very sorry that her mother died, and I am glad that she was able to get home in time to say goodbye, but I agree with Alicia and Kathy: Jenna had no business being there in the first place. I think some of the blame lies with Mark Burnett & Co - Jenna freaked about her mom halfway through the Amazon, I'm sure CBS had information that Jenna's mom was worse at the time of the shooting and should never have cast her for All-Stars.

As for Richard and the shark: I am amazed! Say what you will about Rich's arrogance - he's got cajones (obviously, heh)! His ability to keep calm while a shark is attached to him is incredible in itself - but the man BIT the shark!?! Wow.

Someone please get rid of Amber NOW. I'm actually starting to like/root for Rob M, but seeing Amber's insufferable Drunk Girl routine this week, and the previews for next week, makes my stomach turn.

Good for Jerri for keeping it cool, even while arguing with Rupert, and not saying I Told You So when she was proved right. Even Jenna L kept her yap shut this week!

Guinevere, I don't think you are in the minority about what you think. Although very sad about her mom, what was Jenna and CBS thinking. I wonder what her real reason for going on the show---could it have been money? I am sure her mom's care was not cheap. Even though Alicia came off harsh, she was right. What was Jenna thinking? She took a spot from someone else.

Alicia may have been right but she came off as pretty insensitive. She didn't have to rub it in when Jenna was right there already upset. Jenna had also just admitted that she made a mistake. Remember, she is young.

I agree that she might have taken a spot from someone else but it isn't quite the same as when Osten quit. He was just a pathetic loser who couldn't handle it whereas Jenna had already proven she could handle Survivor when she won in the Amazon. It wasn't that Jenna just gave up like Osten did.

I realize that some people will think that Richard showed determination, maybe bravery, in catching that shark but in my mind it was incredibly dumb. Attempting to catch one no bigger than that barehanded was asking for trouble, LOL. He had no plan of what to do if he caught it other than to jab it with a home-made lance to disable it. Had there been bigger sharks in the area his blood in the water would have attracted them to enter the shallower water. Then he would have been in real trouble. I don't think his actions show any forethought as to the consequences of them, and that is no way to help his team mates or further his own chances in the game.

re. Jenna: Having lost my mother to cancer a couple of years ago, I can certainly sympathize with her situation. HOWEVER, when all of that was going on, I certainly would not have been toodling off to the tropics to play a game I've already won to begin with! What really bothered me about the whole thing though was Jeff going around asking everyone "What do you think? What's your take on this?" like he was trying to fish for someone to say something rude. Jenna felt bad enough as it was without having to endure some sort of third degree and hear everyone else's input.

re. Richard/Shark: I don't care if we were starving to death, there is no way I would be diving around poking my head under rocks in a tropical zone. BlueBead, I absolutely agree; it was just a dumb thing to do. I mean, he's been doing nothing but sitting around making snarky comments for a week, NOW he decides to do something productive and that's what he comes up with?? And if you're going to try something of this nature, this might be the one time you might actually want to PUT ON SOME PANTS, if you get my drift. Tho according to ShiiAnn, it apparently wouldn't matter one way or the other....:)

Exactly.

JonnyCoop, do you think Jeff did it because it is supposedly a tribe and not just one person making a decision. I think Jenna needed to hear the consequences of her decision with the rest of the tribe.

You know, I don't want to sound harsh either but Jenna said that family comes first but in reality it didn't because she made the decision to go. But again, we (I) don't know the reason she went. I said this before, maybe it was for the money and to help pay the enormous cost of her mother's illness. Who knows.

Dee

Jerri & Rupert had a fight about differing opinions about building the shelter. Jerri thought Rupert's idea was stupid but they ended up doing Rupert's idea and as it turned out, Jerri was right.

I felt bad for Jenna, I'm just glad she got home on time to see her mother before she died. She made a mistake in going and she admitted that it was a bad call. Her mother probably encouraged her to go (as she did last time) because she is young and she probably doesn't want her daughter missing out on things because of her illness. Jenna realized it was a mistake and made a gutsy move to just leave and go home like she did and not worry about what anyone thought about her decision. It's just a TV show afterall.

I think part of Alicia's coldness was due to editing - I have the feeling that the dialogue took a lot longer than what we saw. Also, Jeff was fishing for comments from others. I do think it's fair that everyone got to say what they thought, and I thought everyone was respectful, even if they had a different opinion. I agree with Dee4707 - Jenna chose to drop the bombshell of her decision at a time when everyone was gathered, so everyone was just giving their reactions.

After the combination of Osten quitting and Jonny Fairplay's dead gramma routine last season, I don't blame Jeff for grilling Jenna on her motives, and her possible inside information (she was talking as if she'd gotten an update).

I wonder what Rupert thinks - he's been on the only 2 seasons where someone has walked away from the game! I think that Rupe's answers were definitely informed from having just experienced someone leaveing (albeit in very different circumstances, and he wasn't at the Tribal Council where it happened).

Having known that Jenna would leave voluntarily for a while now, I'm just glad it happened early in the game, so now it's out of the way. Mogo Mogo got dealt a bad hand - but hopefully they will recover. Sabogo should be counting their blessings Jenna M wasn't on their team!

I kind of felt sorry for Rob C. What is there now, 3 women and 2 men. Hmm??? I guess I could stand Rob C a lot more than Alicia and Sue but oh well. Boston Rob is turning into a little snake.
