Evgeni Plushenko

Well, when you guys put it like that... If Snow King comes to Canada, I would indeed like to see the original cast. Not Johnny replaced by Patrick or Irina replaced by Joannie. I guess I got a bit carried away when it's the Japanese skaters, because I'm a fan of Dai and Mao, would love to see Takeshi make an appearance for nostalgia's sake, and can totally see Yuzuru playing Kai. But since 99% of people will only see it once (unless they make a DVD), the original cast is best.

I agree the original cast is the best.

Yes, from what I understood from the Russian blog, he wants Mao, Dai, and Takeshi in the show.

I believe in the Japanese show they asked him if he would like to work with skaters from Japan. I think he answered he would like to work with them in the future and not specifically about The Snow King.

But if he wants to bring the Snow King to Japan, inviting Japanese skaters would make more sense don't you think?

I am wondering is the show definitely scheduled for Japan? if so when is it? I don't know if they will have time for the news skaters (if they were to get them) to practice/learn the choregraphy and be 100% ready for the show. they would also have to work out their schedules. The old cast had practiced for a while.

I don't think he has to invite the Japanese skaters to perform in it, they could make an appearance. If that logic is followed, if he goes to other countries, then the skaters from those countries should be in it. Therefore, those skaters would have to learn the choreography as well.

I also think it is best to stick with the old cast and tour the countries. Maybe a few famous skaters from those countries could make an appearance, but to do the entire show, I don't think so. Too much hassle.

Now if one of the original cast is leaving, then it is different.

I agree with most of this (that it's inefficient), but if there's any place where cast replacement would be done, Japan makes the most sense. The Snow King would likely get more than one show there, and Japan has many homegrown stars. If (when? Please let it be a "when") Snow King comes to North America, it likely won't get many shows, and the "stars" to choose from are limited, especially during competition season.

I wonder what surprises they will have tomorrow, especially since it is his son's birthday. Maybe kids skating?

Yeah you could be right about that. I am sure Weir has previous engagements, especially when the season returns as he will be commentating on the figure skating. So he probably won't be able to do too much.

I think Sasha will make a cameo in the show and they are giving out some kind of treats to the kids in the audience. Considering that Sasha could ride a skateboard a few months ago, I wouldn't be terribly surprised if he skates by himself already. Maybe with some help from the Safronov brothers. ;)

There are some good quality videos from one of the St. Petersburg shows on this channel:

Adorable Sasha "practice" for his B-day ice show / Тренировка Саши Плющенко: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mvSSL1lbdg:))) (thanks @anais167 for video)

OMG, that is adorable! :D Seems Sasha has all ready grown out of the tiny blue skates!

Can't wait to see what he does during the shows tonight/tomorrow (can't figure out the time zones...)

Although I'm pretty sure Irina's daughter skates better than I do, though...:o:

The training video was adorable...I watched the clips Yana posted today, and I definitely think that kid will be standing on skates by himself within 6 months or so. He seems so good-natured about it all. I'm sure he must cry and throw tantrums sometimes, but he seems pretty mellow as toddlers go.

Maybe somewhere in the future, Sasha and Irina's daughter will team up as a pair on ice!

Thanks for the link.

Also the pic with Sasha, as well as Irina's daughter when Plushenko is following her around is sweet.

I believe they had their last show in St Petersburg today. Johnny has a picture of them celebrating the final show. Irina is already on her way to Moscow aas she has another show on the 10th.

So that's it then? or do we know the dates of any other shows in other countries?
