Yes it was the gift from their Colorado visit. The person who painted it is Larisa Gendernalik. She is a former student of Mishin's who migrated to the US and became a coach.

It's amazing when you think about it, Mishin has taught so many students over the decades and many have gone on to become coaches themselves, perhaps imparting a bit of Mishin's technique to skaters all around the world.

I must say, the lighting and backgrounds are simply gorgeous. Maybe I've just forgotten since it's been a while, but it looks even more vibrant than Snow King 1? Coupled with how it reflects off the ice... just, stunning.

I really wish he could bring Snow King to North America. I enjoyed Stars on Ice this summer, but I can tell from the videos alone that this is a whole other level of creativity and craftsmanship.

Short Summary


Hello! My name is Sara and I am italian. I live in Rome and, as you may imagine, I am surrounded by art in all its form of expression. I see myself as an art addicted, I literally adore artists, no matter if they are painters or dancers: when I see passion in someone's performance, I feel good and blessed. Photography allows me to share how I feel about it. I started 8 years ago by shooting my hero, Olympic Champion Evgeni Plushenko and now I want to share with you the neverseen pics of him during this time. I shooted many moments with a basic camera, not a pro one. And I loved it.
I am raising funds because I want this photography passion to become a real job. Unfortunately in my country is not easy to work in art, people are used to think that making pictures is like an hobby, so you don't deserve any reward for it. I think differently and I really want to improve my skills and my equipment so I can start rockin this wonderful world. My goal is to spread my vision of people I admire to the world.
I really need contributions to buy my new equipment and to publish my book, it would be amazing for me, since finding a job you love is something very difficult nowadays. But life is all about finding our way, isn't it? Your help could free myself and make it possible to pursue my dream.

With the funds I raise I will buy a basic equipment which is composed of the Canon 1DX Camera and 2 lenses, one for figure skating and concerts, a 70-200 lens, 2.8 L series which allows to capture moving subjects (since I picture athletes mostly). And to realize my book with the pics I already have too.

At the moment I add some of my already taken shots of Olympic champions in Figure skating like Carolina Kostner, Adelina Sotnikova and Evgeni Plushenko and some performing artists such as Leona Lewis and 2 Cellos. Books of Neverseen Before Shots

Have you ever thought about what artists do while practicing? While they are not under the spotlight? They are extraordinary people, they create art anytime so... I want to capture unseen moment of their lives and share it to the world.
In 8 years of shooting, I gained many positive feedbacks from colleagues much more equipped and experienced than I am ... And from my subjects of course! This is awesome! And of course it made me realize that yes! I can make it!
My first project is a book about a super famous Olympic Champ Evgeni Victorevic Plushenko, stay tuned!

Risks & Challenges

Being a Freelance is a risk. I could not be able to reach the events for any kind of reason like... missing trains or no press passes!
In many years, btw, nothing stopped me from getting my pics and from entering the events I wanted to shoot! I can prove it!
