I am a bit bemused by the fact that the Professor still believes that Yagudin's sports psychologist at the time had some weird voodoo powers. Although, him standing right at the boards while Plushy did his SP would have been off-putting (although Mishin did the same to Yagudin apparently? But then Mishin's a coach so would have had reason to be there at least). Having said that though, this story always gets people in a tizzy as you'll see if you read the comments (protip: don't read the comments!) Also I still can't believe T Tarasova gets a free ride despite everything she's said...I bet all the politicians in the world would like to know her secret!
I wonder, was she a commentator when Plushy was still a skater? If so was her commentary of him the typical T Tarasova stuff, one day he's the pride of Russia, the next he's old and probably fat and should get the Hell out. Or was she at least consistent

The link CrazyKittenLady posted was actually a recent interview with the Professor about his students. Plushy got this rather... interesting simile:

I'm not sure how to feel about that! The Professor is known for his Mishin-isms, which is cute! This one is a rather violent though and doesn't bring artistry or finesse to mind, (Plushy did once ride in a tank
) it might be a bit of a disservice to be honest.
(And oh geeze, don't look at the comments for this one either...sigh
)
Also Artur G reached the pantheon...he was asked his opinion of the current happenings of Russian Figure Skating!
Although the questions weren't pretty:
- How do you feel about criticism of Evgeni Plushenko? Neither Trusova nor Kostornaya improved his performance, on the contrary, losing their positions. Or is it not about him?
- We can only judge by what we see at the competition, that is, the result of training. But we do not know how athletes behave in training: whether they listen to the end, how attentively, are capricious or not ... This is a difficult process. I appreciate Artur being classy, although he always was classy (you'd have to be to remain in skating after the way his own Fed treated him). But seriously, could these questions be any more biased and insulting? They may as well have asked "Plushenko is a sh*t coach? Yes or of course?"
And wow way to trash Sasha T while they're at it. She had the exact same issue with multiple quads under her old team, at least now she has her improved artistry. How about talking about that? Why does every other skater's lyrical programs get swooned over while Sasha T gets nothing? Why should she even bother? May as well skate like a robot, doesn't seem to matter anyway.
And oh no... apparently one of the big stories right now is that Alina Z considered returning this season and there's two stories featuring comments from Yana (you can guess what about). For crying out loud don't touch that nuclear bomb with a ten foot pole. I can only hope this won't get traction, the Academy doesn't need this BS. (This is a no-brainer right? I'm honestly disappointed that Yana seems not to get this? You're in PR! Read the room!

Grumble...I'm in a bad mood now, sorry for bringing the post down.
