Finally, Plushy's hard work & unremitting efforts are bearing fruits. Zinina, whom I have never seen or heard of before, impressed me the most with her charming smile and natural elegance on ice! Considering how short she has worked with Plushy, such result is not only unbelievably successful but also profoundly meaningful. Titova is such a lovely girl that I firmly believe next time she can overcome her nerves and land her first 3A in competitions. Compared to last season, her skating improved a lot! And the other two girls of his are surely going to make a splash on the Junior Stage very soon! Can't wait to see it!

I have always been very confident in Plushy's coaching abilities from the very beginning, so I am more than happy to see things moving so quickly & smoothly in his favor! Undoubtedly his team is on the point of flying...

Less talk and hard work can only lead to cheerful success, but I am still not quite used to such reserved Plushy...

Well today/yesterday is a day of historical importance...the first international gold medal for an Angels student! And it's my personal fave Kirill!!

Not gonna lie, externally I'm like "Woo-hoo! This is a great day! Congratulations to everyone!"

Internally I'm like "Yeeeeeah! Take that, haters! How do you like the Academy now, Mr Yagudin?! Hell yeah! Put that in your pipes and smoke it!" (Am I terrible person for this? Maaaybe)

Well a huge competition for the Academy thus far has wrapped up with great success! Veronika and Sofia M were amaaaazing and picked up gold and silver respectively. Veronika especially did super well after her troubles last season with clean programs. She landed her 3 quads in the FS

Although I shouldn't have posted my thoughts when I was running on 4 hours sleep because I let my filter down. You know me...I was very nervous and dreading what might happen if things turned out badly. But other posters probably don't want to hear that

I'm a little disappointed there was no Gala this time, what a shame..it's early in the season though.

When I saw the clip in which those little kids at the AOP, together with their parents/grandparents, were cheering and applauding for Kirill's victory, I was somehow overwhelmed with mixed feelings. This victory was not only a big reward for the hard work of the entire coaching team, but also a rather valuable morale booster to the whole Academy! It seemed like some flashing happiness out of nowhere that would vanish into thin air overnight, but things were going far more smoothly than I had expected! It was wise to change the technical content of both girls' FS right before they took to the ice. In the end everything turned out to be a big success!

Nika is by far the most talented girl I have ever seen: superb jumps & spins, and very good skating skills. I thought her limbs were not that soft while performing, but I was unexpectedly carried away by her beautiful movements in that step sequence of the Love Story, and her sweet smile! They must have put in tons of work on it during the off season. Sofia's skating, so mature and beautiful, still has much room for improvement. Looking forward to her next stage!

Lastly, I really love Kirill's FS, the music and his performance. Very well done! Is he too small for his age？Hopefully he will show us some quad jumps next time. I know I am a little too impatient at times.

Mishin is a great coach, but Plushy would definitely bring a lot of positive changes to this sport with his expertise and open-mindedness, making it more exciting & interesting to watch! As a growing young coach, he is moving on the right track.

BTW, they toured Budapest after this triumphant Event! How nice to be one of Plushy's angels! I have to say both the girls and Kirill are quite shy in real life!

Awww I know! I was also intrigued by the fact they seemed to be watching the YouTube stream rather than Channel 1. I guess they're Ted B stans

Indeed! Having Sasha T leave would have been a blow, especially for the other girls who really look up to her. They would have been super inspired having her there and she just kinda...disappeared.

Nika and Sofia M were both really amazing I'm still not into Love Story it makes my face sad, even though there's hardly any similarity at all between Sasha T's program and Nika's. However, I really enjoy her SP, it's fun! While the Harley Quinn movies aren't for 13 year olds, there IS Batman: The Animated Series which had Harley Quinn and I watched it at 13. So I'm like calm your farm everyone

I was super worried about Sofia M's FS with the voice over, but it wasn't bad at all! I'm not sure if they cut it back or if it was just the poor acoustics at the Junior Test Skates, but it was relatively painless. I love Young and Beautiful so enjoyed that part with Sofia's beautiful skating.

Lastly, I really love Kirill's FS, the music and his performance. Is he too small for his age？

Yes! Kirill's performance ability was what first caught my eye. Seeing this tiny kid skating to big music (Carmina Burina) and it not looking silly, it was awesome! And reminded me of BB!Plushy. But yes he's quite small, his younger brother Nikita is taller than him (although there's only a year between them I think). But then shorter skaters generally do better than taller ones. I'm actually curious about whether Kirill is shorter than Danill Samsonov who's tiny, but about to enter the senior ranks.

Kirill is working on a quad sal, I think he's landed it in practice, but only in isolation so I guess it's not ready for competition yet.
