Also because I'm a weirdo I was pleased to see Papa Plush in an Instagram story of this moment from another angle. He was last seen some years back planting a tree good to see him.

It's really nice though because Emanuel was one of only two people (the other being Brian Joubert) who actually beat Plushy in a skating competition - the GPF - between 2002-2006. Considering there's a widespread belief that Plushy is a terrible loser, this makes me happy. So there, haters.

Maybe... although the Russian Cup Final is on the same week I believe, a lot of Angels could well be competing so it might not be a good idea for him to go even if invited. Although I wouldn't be opposed...I was always sad Plushy never got to do a final Olympics Gala performance. But for the benefit of his coaching career it's probably best he doesn't...like can you imagine how furious some people would be

This tweet indicates you may be onto something, Sweet Dream. Although, NGL this makes me nervous, you know people are going to be furious and accuse Plushy of trying to steal the limelight from the Russian skaters actually competing. It just seems like a lot of risk for little reward, you know? The Russian Cup Final is on around the same time I think, so I feel like the general feeling will be "Stay in your lane".

Alas famous last words After an extremely promising short program for most of the Angels especially Egor R and Nika Z, the FS was a disaster except for Sofia M who managed to get bronze and Sofia Titova who stayed on her feet.

Plushy acquitted himself well as Coachshenko - I think? I didn't watch Nastya's or Nika's frees for the good of my mental health. Dima M kept looking like someone ran over his cat...

But yeah...it was not the triumph I was so hoping for... Nastya Z in particular had the worst time and seems dissatisfied with the training set up. Not feeling all that hopeful for next season regarding her staying at the Academy.

What a mess.

Well a bit of a shock when I opened Insta today and there was a post from Plushy saying he was in hospital!

It took a while to find out why, it's not his back, apparently poor Plushy has a stomach ulcer My father had(has?) the same thing, one time it burst - fortunately he was in hospital Emergency Room at the time, but he had to have surgery and his hair turned grey after that!

But Plushy's out of the hospital now, phew! Not sure how long he'll be out of action for. Knowing Plushy he'll be back in the rink ASAP.

It's a duodenal ulcer, to be exact. The reason could be nervous stress associated with the recent junior championship. On the sports.ru website, there are unexpectedly many comments with wishes for recovery, and some of these comments were written by haters (they themselves admit this and promise to return to their attacks only after Evgeny recovers).

How nice, I type with gritted teeth, I actually went to sports.ru to see this miracle. Big mistake. Maybe I picked the wrong article - in fact I'm sure I did because it's was about Yana's statement - and all the comments are horrible.

Didn't these people's mother's tell them "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."? Although I guess if they followed that advice they'd never say anything.

TBH I was wondering if there'd be a comment about how Plushy clearly can't hack it as a coach if he's getting an ulcer and should pack it in. It's probably there somewhere in amongst the remarks that he's an alcoholic (I'm pretty sure Plushy doesn't drink, but OK) and that he needs a holiday from his horrid wife.

What a bunch of jerks. I shall try and take comfort from the fact that their nasty little remarks say more about them than Plushy.

Yes, some of them just got uncovered in the comments. I understand that you can not love someone, but openly sarcastic about getting a person to the hospital, this is apparently from an excess of "kindness"

In general, this site is very toxic, it is impossible to argue with this, but, as you can see, in such cases the situation changes somewhat.

It should also be borne in mind that Yana R. is a very strong allergen for very many people in Russia. I did not quote the comments in which it was she who was accused of Plushenko's illness (and at the same time they wished him recovery), but there were many of them too.
